Lysee J is an up and coming Recording Artist and songwriter. She has been in the game for about 2 years after leaving a private university and has been working with a record producer with Sony. She has a passion for expressing her mature, fun, sassy nature and is an empowering role model for all the females out there. Her stage performance is something to watch out for as she has presence and personality to go along with her beautiful voice.

DAMSF Featured Artist :: Jaretta Osmond

Hi, I'm Jaretta and hope these paintings help you "feel", Some of the canvases are recycled materials and the mediums are acrylic/textured liquids/metallics/gloss/varnishes and "dreamy" vibe...

I can remember the 1st time I really paid attention to art being a form, something really cool that I wanted to try, 4th grade... we had a substitute teacher who showed us how to draw waves, 3-D boxes and I wanted more... I started to draw mountains, people, anything... feelings. I continued my art over the span of my life and it would come and go... I showed for the first time at a salon when I was in my late 20's and started showing at salons, cafes, businesses, art walks, and and collaborative shows in my 30's to now my 40's. 

Art is not my only love or most important part of my life: my 17yo son Zeke, Bikram yoga, dance, and being a hairstylist are other aspects that all Inspire my spirit to be on this earth.  Also the love I am given from family and friends...

I like not being defined in one style or theme of work in my artistic expression... I rarely even know what I'm going to paint, it's truly Magic and all the sudden these pictures reveal themselves... It's therapeutic and exhilarating... I believe in a force greater that can't even be described, but when I finish a painting, I know it exists and am comforted...being a survivor, living in Malaysia in my wonder years, being a single-mom and just living as a human in this Amazing world!

A commuting artist/choreographer from the Central Valley, originally from Philadelphia Pennsylvania Kim T. Davis very much values the diversity in dance within California. A current faculty member of the Modesto Junior College Dance Department located in Modesto Ca. Kim teaches Modern/Contemporary Technique, all levels of Jazz and Hip Hop. As Artistic Director of Ktdavisdance, a professional modern dance company that out reaches throughout California with 2012 engagements happening in Los Angeles at the Mix Match Dance Festival with several Southern Cal Artist’ in August and then back to San Francisco in September to perform at The Garage with Bay Area Artist Nhan Ho. Ktdavisdance is excited to be participating in the July DAMSF 2012 performance. Ktdavisdance received the sjDANCEco Award for outstanding choreography in February 2012. In 2010 Kim’s choreography was presented at the ACDFA Southwest Region Conference at Cal State Long Beach and was invited onto the Gala Program performed by the MJC “Off Balance” Dance Company. Kim’s work is entangled with physical challenges and emotional sensibilities, yet most importantly a deep ensemble connection between the dancers is met with such depth and excitement you won’t want to miss out.
