This hit me the most on my last viewing of the OA and why it’s cancellation is still so devastating 8 years later. season 1 was a complete, beautiful, deeply impactful story, and season 2 opened the door to the possibilities that the entire rest of the series could have been and just how much Brit and Zal were trying to say. This story was completely planned from start to finish, and with the coverage of topics and ideas in season one alone, the expansion in concept in season 2 makes the cancellation so heartbreaking. This was a show that had not yet reached its peak.
