It had been a long day. All Kurt wanted to do was get home, take a long bath, and curl up on the couch for some trashy reality TV with his husband. Instead, he opened the door of their apartment to the sound of Blaine singing at the top of his lungs, no iPod accompanying him, and an almost overbearing scent of sugar cookies wafting through the air. Just as Kurt went to call out that he was home, a cookie sheet clattered to the ground followed by a string of obscenities being yelled.
He closed the door quietly behind himself and tiptoed to the kitchen where he found Blaine dancing around, his singing resumed. His hair was free of gel, instead covered with flour, and what appeared to be a piece of egg shell stuck in his hair just above his left ear. If Blaine wasnāt the most adorable thing Kurt had ever seen, he didnāt know what was.
Kurt set his things down on the kitchen table and proceeded to sneak up behind Blaine. As he wrapped his arms around Blaineās waist, Blaine let out a startled yelp and dropped the rolling pin he was currently using as a microphone to the ground.
āOh my God. You scared me.ā
Kurt chuckled lowly and nuzzled his face into Blaineās neck.
āMm, Iām sorry, Bee.ā
Blaine turned around in Kurtās arms and kissed him chastely before unwinding himself from his arms. He bent over to pick up the rolling pin and didnāt miss the way Kurt stared at his ass. Blaine danced over to where the unrolled dough was sitting in a bowl. Just as he began to set in on rolling out more cookies, the timer for the oven went off. Before Blaine could even react, Kurt had already slid on an oven mitt, shut off the timer, and was taking the cookies out of the oven. Kurt inhaled deeply as he set the finished cookies out on the cooling rack.Ā He took off the oven mitts and set them on the counter before turning to watch the way the muscles worked in Blaineās arms as he rolled out the dough.
āI see that youāre keeping your end of the bargain.ā, Kurt said a little breathlessly.
Blaine glanced in Kurtās direction, and just smiled a big, toothy grin.
āI promised you, didnāt I?ā
āThat you did. Iām gonna go take a bath. Join me?ā
āIāll be in as soon as these are done.ā
Kurt took the few steps over to Blaine and kissed him on the cheek. As he did so, Blaine began humming a very familiar song under his breath. Their song.
I finally found you, my missing puzzle piece.
