Just yesterday I had a client tell me she didn't want to lift any weights because she didn't want to get too "big" and that she'd rather jog. 💪 Higher-intensity total-body resistance training is better for burning calories than jogging or other steady state cardio because it increases both anaerobic and aerobic energy expenditures. This means that you burn calories both during and after your workout. When you do long sessions of steady state cardio, the calorie-burning stops as soon as you do. 💪 There's a lot of other reasons to lift instead of doing cardio (but no one is saying not to do both) like better aesthetics, increased strength, increased mobility and more variety. 💪 If you're not sure how to move forward with lifting weights ask a professional or contact me by clicking on the link in my bio. 💪 Have a great day!
