I've wanted to make Rodney's family members (More importantly their brother and sister) for a long while now, I even made Pierre (Rodney's brother) Like a whole 5 months ago though, he looks way different now! I didn't have the drive to color them all in, but this is what I've got
Some basic info:
Rodney is the youngest of the 3
Rodney has the best relationship with their brother though Trixie did try to gain advice from them but they always shot her down
All of them are adults
Trixie was born without an arm due to a birth defect, same with her wings. Though, she made some new ones out of ribbon! They don't work conventionally, but they look pretty
Pierre was the ladies man growing up
Rodney hardly sees their family anymore since they moved to the city
All 3 of them have a half brother (My friend's OC)
Rodney, Trixie and Pierre's mom and dad are both different insects. With their mom being a Firefly, and their dad being a Butterfly. Because of this, some of them tend to lean into being more of one species. Trixie is more Butterfly, Pierre is more Firefly and Rodney is more Butterfly. (Once I finish them up then you'll see)
Uhhh I got more but this is already getting too long hope you like em!

My brother in Christ. You can't be serious...My entire family took time off to have a family day trip dude...Crossing my fingers for clear weather holy!
This is my OC Rodney. Here's some little lore about them. Rodney is genderfluid. Before they realized this about themselves, they often felt self-conscious about the way they looked. They couldn't explain why, but they felt like something was wrong. Sometimes they would imagine what they would look like as a girl, and while those fantasies could bring comfort, they also sometimes made them feel even more confused.
Thankfully, Rodney's brother was always there to support them. He even helped Rodney make custom clothes that allowed them to feel more like their true self. As time went on, Rodney noticed something important: On some days, they felt happiest presenting in a more feminine way, while on other days they felt completely comfortable and even happier presenting as a man. There were also days when neither felt quite right.
Through these experiences, Rodney realized they were genderfluid. Instead of trying to fit into one identity all the time, they began creating comfortable, gender-neutral everyday clothes that worked no matter how they were feeling. On days they felt like a girl, they dressed in a way that reflected that. On days they felt like a man, they dressed differently. And on days they didn't feel like either, they chose whatever made them feel the most like themselves.
Now, Rodney dresses however feels right each day, embracing every part of who they are instead of hiding it.
I like Rodney a lot, I think they're quite cute! They're my favorite OC of mine after all :3
My brother painted me the album to Plastic Beach <3
This gorgeous artwork was made by my brother as a late Birthday present!
When I told him Plastic Beach was my favorite album he painted this! He even pulled up pictures of my OCs and made them on a boat sailing like oh my GOD it's so sweet!!
