       usopp loses his grip on luffy the moment he expands. he SCREAMS and claws at luffy’s back before gripping onto the back of his shirt, legs dangling. “LUFFY!” he screeches, glancing down. sure, they’re descending, but usopp’s worried about falling to his death before they reach the ground safely. “I DIDN’T EVEN STEAL THE TREASURE!!! I’M GONNA DiiIIIIiIIIIIEEEEEEE~”

 its easy for one to forget that others weren’t used to the same methods of movement are you are in the heat of things ; see , for the captain this is NORMAL. fighting mingo ? he damn near FLEW the entire time. one of the perks of the gom gom fruit. the others ? flight wasn’t exactly their forte compared to one monkey d. luffy.

    when times got desperate , the desperate got CREATIVE. if one couldn’t out run an entire mob , then what was stopping him from simply jumping out of their reach ( luffy , for the love of god , no fights on the island ! we need the supplies ! ) ugh , why did i go listenin` to nami TODAY of all days ! knees bend &. his entire frame slides due to momentum , legs extending fully with an EXPLOSIVE burst of power behind them , sending the trio high into the sky.

     “FASTER!!” poor chopper is just flailing at this point. if usopp could calm down, he’d reminisce that this was just like the good ol’ days, when things were simpler. it’s nice. he glances back, hugging luffy close as he sees the mob recovering from his plant. “they’re gonna run us off the island!”
