We’re going to the zoo

I’ve been going to zoos quite a bit recently and love taking pictures of the animals there.  

It’s a real shame that we need zoos to be able to give some rare species any chance of survival and it’s easy to feel conflicted when observing such amazing creatures in captivity, even when the enclosures are as well thought through as some of those I have seen at Whipsnade and Twycross, but there is no doubt that the conservation work they do is vital.

From a photographic point of view it represents a different challenge and I think that the post processing approach and end results are quite different from the other pictures that I take.
