I know many people in our communities have alcohol/drug addictions or are around people who do, so I want to teach you all some first aid tips!

if someone is unconscious, for example if they've passed out drunk, first make sure the scene is safe, then check for breathing and a pulse!

make sure to check if the person's airway is blocked. placing your fingers under their chin and tilting the head back can help clear their airway.

to check for a person's pulse, place two fingers on their neck beside their windpipe and press firmly for 5-10 seconds.

if the person has no pulse, call emergency services, find an AED (or tell someone to find one if that's possible) and begin CPR if you know how. follow the instructions on the AED to defibrillate the person.

if the person is breathing and has a pulse, place them in the recovery position!

make sure they are on their side with the higher arm folded under their head, the lower arm bent forward, and the higher leg bent, like this:

their mouth should be open and facing downward. that way, if they vomit, the vomit can drain out of their mouth and they won't choke on it.

you can place soft but heavy objects, like pillows weighted down with something, around the person to keep them from accidentally turning over.

i completely agree we need to normalize cw’ing and/or tagging nsft posts more often in the rqc but can we NOT act like having sexual blogs, yes even ones that have no other purpose than to BE sexual are bad things? because it reeks of censorship when you suggest that sexual blogs shouldnt be in the rqc or shouldnt be popular or what have you for xyz reason.

1. Its a good way for people to learn about us and others who might find comfort and want to join the community.

This wasn’t brought up but I was personally uncomfortable with AAMs being portrayed as a “bratty child who ACTS innocent” (or something to that effect). And then looking at the MAP who only wants the AAM for sexual purposes really does show a lot about the creator of these characters.
