Custom painted McFarland Toys Darkseid from the movie, "Zack Snyder's Justice League." I loved the sculpt of the figure, but I knew it needed a more brighter and colorful repaint. I always preferred Darkseid and the other newgods in brighter colors, just because I loved how Jack Kirby depicted them as such. If your curious on what I did: His skin is a wash of brown mixed with black, with some light drybrushing of gray. For his armor, I painted the whole set with blue and black mixed and dry-brushed metallic blue to bring out highlights. The core and back of him is airbrushed with red and I added gold on his Logo/emblem. Also added some gold on his helmet. Picture this!, digital imaging This project was a little interesting. My professor required us to create an image using this quote, "If the sky could dream, it would dream of dragons." – ILONA ANDREWS. Also required was the use of that specific dragon used in the image. Excerpt from my class discussion. "For my idea, I was thinking about using the quote and dragon requirement that was in the prompt. I see all ideas from a literal standpoint; because of this my idea will be simple. "What if the sky was a person and it thought of dragons?". I started with fire as a background because I began to piece together a position where the sky would be if it were a person. Although I did think too hard because the space would be above the sky. Using images from Pexels, I masked a silhouette of a person and inserted an image of the sky. I put a screen in the silhouette layer to replicate how the sky is not a physical object. The clouds also came from Pexels. I masked them out then used screen on the layer to show that the clouds are not physical either. Typography, digital imaging This assignment required us to look up a custom font tutorial and recreate it using our names, clearly my name is not "less goo!" But it was more fun to do. Excerpt from my class discussion. "I was having a hard time with most online tutorials for typography, some of them required downloading extra stuff, until i found this one. It's a really neat effect and gives me a psychedelic feeling. To keep the description brief youll need to modify the, Mixer brush Tool. All settings 100% except for the one on the right next to flow, keep that one 0. When you type anything, go to the liquify tool and drag the bottem of the letters down, creating a melting string effect. duplicate layers 3 times and put color overlay in each layer, pick your three colors ofcoarse. Shift two layors slightly to the left and right, then with the brush tool drag down strings to merge the colors. Open a Hue/saturation layor and set Saturation to 100% and mess with the hue to your desired colors. Visual pun, digital imaging This was an assignment for my digital imaging class, where the subject was to create a Visual pun using Adobe photoshop. Excerpt of my process "The first layer mask is around the man to separate him from the original photo using the quick selection tool. The second layer mask is for the lion’s head. His lion mane was brushed off/around to fit around the body. The third layer mask was for the hat. The hat was removed from its original image by quick selection tool. The fourth- and fifth-layer mask was for two Hue/saturation adjustment masks.
