duke thomas: those two are cute.
cassandra cain: mmm, yeah, they are.
duke thomas: how long have they been together?
dick grayson: well, they started dating when Tim was 13 and Stephanie was 14, and they're what, 21 and 22 now? so 8 years?
barbara gordon: eight years, yes.
duke thomas: they've been dating for eight years?
barbara gordon: what dating, they're married!
jason todd: oh yeah, we never told you that story.
duke thomas: when did they get married?!
cassandra cain: years ago. they'd been dating for a few years at that time, and went and eloped two weeks after tim's 16th birthday.
jason todd: they ran off to las vegas and got married in one of those little chapels around midnight.
dick grayson: a booster gold impersonator officiated the ceremony.
barbara gordon: I'm pretty sure that actually was booster gold.
dick grayson: the only reason we know about it is they told us after they got home and showed us the pictures some randoms took of them at the chapel.
cassandra cain: it was kind of obvious what had happened, they were both very twitchy with anticipation before running off together to elope.
jason todd: but the aftermath!
cassandra cain: ahhh! ha ha ha ha!
barbara gordon: so these two teens in love, they get married in secret, right? you think they'd come back home, but no!
dick grayson: they go off on a honeymoon in Europe, for three whole months!
barbara gordon: Bruce couldn't find them, he was so mad, he had us all searching for them since they left without saying anything.
jason todd: eventually he managed to track them down at Hôtel Hermitage in Monte-Carlo Monaco.
dick grayson: they've never talked about it, but I'm sure that was the most awkward plane ride home for any of them, ever.
cassandra cain: after we found out they were married, bruce threw his hands up in the air, shook his head, and went, "fine. whatever, they're married, and they're staying married."
barbara gordon: then he made us all agree that the rest of us wouldn't get married without telling him first.
jason todd: so yeah, they've been married for five years.
duke thomas: but. SIXTEEN and SEVENTEEN??? can you actually be married at those ages? like is that a legal thing in New Jersey?
dick grayson, barbara gordon, jason todd, cassandra cain, singing in unison: everything is legal in New Jersey!
