sorry to my usual followers - i'm about to make a real stink about something that people probably won't care about but i keep seeing "bunch of friends" fanart on my TL and i think it's important people are at least aware of this being a thing that happened in the past, especially when tumblr as a platform is very queer. i think it's important for his queer fans to know.
anthpo, one of the members of bunch of friends, made a video a few years back called "i spent 200 days undercover as a furry". in this video, anthpo makes a fool of himself at a furry convention and amongst other vaguely homophobic things, he seeks out and records a furry orgy without consent, and uploads it to his millions of followers online.

whilst said portion of the video has been removed, the video is rife with tiny homophobic remarks, such as one of anthpo's friends commenting that he's going to "come back with an std" after going to the furry party. he buys a piece of furry pornography called "may the best man win" and then acts shocked and disgusted when the character on the cover he thought was a woman turns out to be man.
he crashes the dance competition to absolute silence from the crowd and disrupts their schedule.
he lied about how easy it was for him to get into the 18+ spaces, completely skipping over the detail that all badges (which you need to show ID to get), indicate whether or not you are 18+ on them, in order to portray furries as what - predatory?
the entire thing is him perpetuating homophobic stereotypes in the name of "investigating furries".
it's a ghoulish video, and one i'm shocked he's been able to get away with, for the most part. in any other community, "filming an orgy non-consensually" would be enough to lose you millions of subscribers.
i'm digging all this up because i keep seeing queer fans make content of this guy, off the back of his new "bunch of friends" channel, and i think it's important to spread awareness about the sort of person you're watching so fans can make more of an informed decision. what you do with that information is up to you, of course.
