NGL I have had a hard time posting in the last week because it feels so ridiculous to talk to you about anything while an incompetent nepo baby fascist and his evil idiot cronies murder people around the world.
But also...the work continues or nothing ever gets better.
This post is a follow up to another one about pricing and small businesses (find it on my profile).
The summary of it all: the best thing any of us can do is reject fast fashion and fast everything. Yes, that means not buying into when you can avoid it, but also...undoing all of the psychological damage it has done to all of us. That means rejecting the idea that we need a steady stream of new stuff to be happy. It means looking for those dopamine hits elsewhere. And it means unpacking our relationship with price and value.
We have gotten used to the artificially low prices of fast fashion because we are surrounded by cheap, low quality goods. We can get used to paying ethical prices when they are the rule, not the exception.
