dai-chan (satsuki -> aomine) - it's cute, it's unique, it perfectly represents the are-they-together-or-are-they-not nature of momoi's and aomine's relationship. they're childhood friends, they've got ambiguous tension, she stops calling him this in high school. peak heterosexual DRAMA. 6/10.
sei-chan (reo -> akashi) honestly? i admire reo's guts because if a stabby 15-year-old with dichromatic eyes was my teammate, i probably wouldn't be referring to him as "-chan." ballsy. cute, even. 7/10.
mukkun (satsuki -> murasakibara) - ruthlessly efficient, manages to shorten an extremely long name while also having endearing, childlike undertones. 7/10.
-cchi (kise -> everyone) - this is more of a suffix than a nickname, but i guess it still counts because it follows the knb etiquette of characters having extremely specific nicknames for each other. this one is too generic though, and a nightmare for names longer than 3-4 syllables. i wouldn't expect anything else from kise ryouta. 4/10.
kurochin/minechin/murochin/everyonechin (murasakibara-> everyone) - i'll be honest: i'm into it. it's kind of adorable, and i respect murasakibara's dedication to shortening everyone's names down to 3 syllables regardless of how long their names actually are [glares at kise]. cute, if a little lazy. 7.5/10
tetsu (aomine -> kuroko) - a gut-punch. devastating. world-shattering. aomine does not call anyone else in the entire series by a nickname (this is true, i have seen this show 4 times and can confirm). he STILL calls kuroko this after the break-up; in fact, aomine has never called kuroko by his government name since they first met. i wish i could sue them for emotional damages. -100/10.
tetsu-kun (satsuki -> kuroko) - cute. takes aomine's nickname and adds a polite little suffix to it that represents her relationship and closeness with both boys. the adorable way fumiko orikasa squeals it is enough to give me heartburns and i will physically injure anyone on this show who disrespects satsuki, idc if they're athletes. 8/10.
shin-chan (takao -> midorima) - talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show-stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique. midorima absolutely deserves this, and we should all give takao a national award for deciding to use it. no notes. 100/10.
