Saw the panel postings for Friday and Sat. Wow 9 ~ 10 slot. After wrangling celebs all day you going to have enough energy left? I forget what beer brand you had last year, What beer do we need to have on hand to help keep you going ? :) Any hints on bookmarks  you will have this year? Looks like its going to be another busy  / fun year !

Thanks for worrying, but I ask for later slots. I have to have the later panels so we can properly close my department. For beer, I'll be drinking Yuengling all weekend, but I should have a solid supply.

Indiana Comic Con 2016 Was A BLAST!

Thank you all for coming out to my panels at ICC 2016. The Hogwarts Battle Royale was especially fun! And Tampa Bay Comic Con 2016 is only THREE MONTHS AWAY! Time for HBR round 2, and a new panel topic (feel free to let me know what you’d like to see).

Can I tell you a secret? You don’t have to be in a relationship.    I mean it. I know they force it down your throat until you choke on it. Girls aren’t pretty unless they’re wanted. Boys aren’t men unless they’re having sex with someone. People aren’t lovable until they’re dating someone.    But a relationship won’t always make you happy, and as wonderful as romance is, it isn’t the only love that exists. I have seen friendships that are deeper and more pure than couples who swear it’s forever - and yet the friendship is the one people ignore.    I have heard so often “nobody loves me” out of the mouths of people who are single. And it kills me because if you ask them: where are your parents, your teachers, your classmates, your pets - they say, yes, okay, but it doesn’t count. Of course it counts, love doesn’t diminish just because someone doesn’t want to have sex with you. In fact, doesn’t it sort of make that love more real that they want nothing - not even a date - out of you?   It is pretty to be in love. It’s magical, I’m sure. But it’s also wonderful to stop for ice cream in your prom dress with six other girls. It’s also wonderful to go visit the world with nothing but a bunch of buddies who are really excited about learning.    The problem is: we’ve made everything about “the one”. But maybe “the one” is just you, loving yourself, having fun, and being happy. Maybe instead of looking for our other halves, we should be piecing ourselves together.   Maybe I wasn’t born unfinished. Maybe I am the one who makes myself better.

This isn’t related to anything I usually post about. No art, no talk of upcoming panels…but maybe if I put it somewhere my brain and my heart will get a little break. 

I’m going through a breakup that will ultimately be the best thing for both of us, but right now I feel like the worst person on the planet (I’m the one who ended things). Writing my thoughts/feelings down has always helped me, but I’m not up for my friends and family sending me condolences right now, so I’m putting it here instead of Facebook or something like that.

We broke up because, despite him being a wonderful person and me caring about him very much, it wasn’t going to work out. I feel like shit. Merry fucking Christmas to me. I’m giving myself until I go to sleep to calm the hell down and return to my vacation, because right now I’m not the most fun family member to be around and tomorrow is my mother’s birthday. That gives me 9-ish more hours to be a crying wreck. Deep breath, Flee.

I am sorry to hear about your current distress. Breaking up is always painful, holidays just make it worse. In the brief time I talked with you at the TBCC you impressed me as a very positive, energetic young woman who’s charisma and demeanor could captivate a room of strangers attention. I am sure outside of you are surrounded with friends and family that care about you and will be there to help you endure the current pain you are experiencing. I am also sure you have countless friends across the internet that you could reach out to as well. Don’t lock your feeling up and let them consume you especially not over the holidays. Please be kind and gentle with yourself while you are working through your emotions.

Remember : You are a fantastic person and deserve the best!
