reader is going crazy like where are you and sheās just passed out for half the day
hibernation II a.putellas
you glanced up at the sound of chiming, the front door swinging open and an all too familiar face stepping through as you immediately perked up at her arrival.
"hola amor." your girlfriend smiled warmly as she stood on the opposite side of the counter, hands shoved in her pockets as she rocked back and forth on the balls of her feet and narrowed her eyes up at the board above your head.
you cleared your throat after a couple of minutes of silence, raising an eyebrow expectantly at the curious look she gave you. rolling your eyes when she didn't catch on you tapped your lips, the blondes own eyes widening as she immediately leaned forward.
you met her halfway, pecking her lips and mumbling your own greeting against them before pulling back as once again her gaze moved upwards.
"because mi amor you come in here every day, look at the board, read the specials, take your time, and every day you order the same thing." you laughed knowingly, waving goodbye to a few customers as they called out thank you's.
"no!" alexia argued. "sĆ, lo sabes." lucia, one of your more longer term employees called out as she made her way past and headed into the kitchen with an armful of dirty plates.
"leave my girls alone or i might start charging you putellas." you warned playfully, the midfielder mocking you under her breath as you clipped a lid onto her drink, placing it in front of her with a brown paper bag beside it.
"what if i do not want that?" alexia challenged with a raised eyebrow. "vale! lunch for me." you shrugged, moving to take it back before she protectively shielded it with her arm. "predecible." you smiled with a wink.
"gracias cariƱo." alexia sighed in defeat, knowing all too well that her favourite baked good you sold was concealed in the bag without even having to open it, the iced matcha causing her to exhale happily after she took a sip.
but she frowned as you cleared your throat again expectantly. "payment." you reminded, tapping the counter with your knuckles as your girlfriend scrambled to balance her drink and pull her phone out of her pocket.
"ale! no con dinero." you laughed as the blonde paused, thinking it over for a minute before it dawned on her and once again she leant across the counter and you did the same, your lips meeting in the middle.
"text me when you are home, sĆ?"
"por supuesto."
only as time ticked on and the cafe ran through its usual lunch rush, you were surprised to pull your phone out after a couple of hours and not have a single message from the footballer.
fingers flying you sent her a couple of texts checking in if she'd made it home safe, tucking your phone back in your pocket and smiling warmly at an elderly couple before taking their order.
though with your girlfriends absence playing on your mind, and frequently checking your phone to no update, the strange gaping pit in your stomach widened and you just couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.
you even went as far as to google if any car accidents had happened nearby, after stepping outside to try calling alexia a few times and the phone just ringing out, something else out of character.
you were a few more moments of silence away from calling her mami or the local hospital when your phone was snatched out of your hand before you could.
"go home. we are fine!" lucia chuckled at the look on your face, handing you back your phone.
"but-"
"no, go chica. vamos!"
you didn't bother to argue after that, lucia having worked for you long enough you knew you could trust her to close up by herself now the other girls had already gone home for the day.
"oh and amiga? i am sure alexia is fine."
even with the girls words ringing in your ears you weren't to deny you broke a few speed limits on your way home, your heart in your throat as you took an orange light a little too fast and awaited for red and blue lights behind you but they never came.
you tried calling alexia again and again on the way there, both her mami and sister declining having heard from her since this morning either your anxiety was going into overdrive.
you barely cut the engine before you were throwing off your seatbelt and near sprinting across the carpark, trying to call her again and again as you entered the elevator and tapped your fob, pressing the number of your floor over and over as if that would make it go faster.
you were at risk of carpet burn with how fast you sped down the hallway, fumbling clumsily with your keys and cursing as you dropped them, almost falling over your feet as your hands shook but you managed to unlock the front door.
"amor? amor? alexia? estÔs aqu ale? alexia!" you shouted, growing louder with each call of her name, zooming around the house as your breathing became shallow. "alexia! estÔs aqu" you yelled again, holding the phone up to your ear, the number of the local hospital having been punched in since you sped into the carpark.
"hola? hay alguien que se llame putellas?" you asked fearfully, pacing back and forth and huffing as you were put on hold.
"mi amor? cuƔndo llegaste a casa?"
"not now alexia." you shooed away your girlfriend, breath held as the nurse returned. "no no, putellas." you corrected as she advised there wasn't anyone under the name 'patella'.
the taller girl grunted as you practically tackled her in a hug, sending her stumbling backwards and just catching her footing as your legs wrapped around her waist and she held you up.
"gracias a dios." you breathed a sigh of relief, hands cupping her cheeks and kissing her lips repeatedly until it suddenly dawned on you that all of your worry had seemingly been for nothing.
"you. were. supposed. to. text. me. when. you. got. home!" you smacked her hoodie covered shoulder with every word as the blonde cowered, shielding her face.
"i was sleeping!" alexia defended, catching your hands in hers as you raised them to smack her again, refusing to let them go as your eyes narrowed, the twitch in the left one causing your girlfriend to swallow nervously.
"this whole time. you have been...asleep?" you asked calmly, though it was the kind of calm that terrified the blonde holding your hands captive in her own.
"...sĆ, i was tired." alexia shrugged, finally letting go of your hands as you tried again to pull them away, this time with success as your girlfriend braced but thankfully they dropped to your side instead of lunging at her again.
"tired? you were tired?" you questioned, alexia now backing up as you strode forward, her shoulder knocking against the doorframe as she retreated into the bedroom.
"alexia. you slept for twelve hours last night, and today is your day off! how are you tired?" you growled at her as she gave you a small smile. "ahora no lo soy?" she laughed nervously, wincing as you exhaled slowly.
"i thought you were in an accident. or badly hurt. or in the hospital!" you accused, alexia quickly darting around to the other side of the bed as you poked a finger at her.
"but i am not princesa! i am fine, and that is good, no?" alexia grinned as you only glared at her silently and she whistled quietly under her breath. "vale mi vida, you must be tired after a long day, so much stress. why do we not have a nap?" your girlfriend suggested hopefully, pulling the blanket back and patting the bed.
"mmm good idea cari, i am tired." you hummed with a nod, alexia visibly relaxing a little, boldly assuming she was in the clear. "but i hope you slept well alexia. did you? you must have if you could not even hear your phone! or your watch!" you questioned, tone once again dangerously calm.
it may have played to her favour that your girlfriend quickly realised though you'd asked a question, you didn't really want her to answer.
"well i hope you did mi amor. because tonight, you can sleep on the couch!" you practically barked at her before stomping off in the other direction as your girlfriend groaned, dragging her hands down her face.
"would it help if i said i was dreaming of you? mi niƱa bonita?"
"no! it would not help!"
I havenāt been here for like a week (just been busyā boo) but Iām going through to see what I missed and itās funny to me to see the āand the ship sankā when like two scrolls later itās āTHE SHIP IS SAILINGā. Ship hit an ice burg and titanic-ed real quick.
My main thought is that I'm glad that I emotionally disconnected from them a couple days ago. But also, it's been coming lol. I'm not gonna point fingers because they're both as bad as each other, and both of them could've/should've handled things differently with the other.
I will say though, it's kinda a low blow coming from Zeudi to do this with Javier now. I can totally understand that she likes the affection, but I don't think Helena had ever confessed more or confessed clearer than she did last night (it wasn't all that, I know, but it was more than we're used to from her). Zeudi loving up Javier being Helena's thanks for opening up is just really ugly lol. Alas, we will see what happens at the puntata tomorrow. I think I'm gonna stop following them after that.

Well, Iām just happy that thatās over. Substandard refereeing. Not good enough with our chances. Tricky Blues diving all over the gaff again. We move.
