capitalism is bullshit because I had to put someone’s birthday in today to sell them some alcohol and it was 4/20/69 and I couldn’t even tell them how fuckin mindbogglingly sick that is for fear of being fired
too much water on this planet.

Sylvia Plath and literary criticism
If we went home from our 9 - 5 jobs with 3 - 4 hours of extra work every day, we’d lose our minds. But we do it to high school kids and see absolutely no problem with it.
Idk how to break it to you, but women do this all the fucking time. I see my mother in law, who is a vet and makes more than her husband does as an optometrist, come home after hours of standing, performing surgeries, wrestling with large dogs and getting bitten on the reg, to cook elaborate dinners for the family while her husband takes a nap or looks at his iPad for a few hours… if you look at the hetero adults in your life you can see this dynamic play out over and over again. Maybe men come home and get to stop working, but women work full time jobs and come home to work for 3-4 hours all the time.
“if feminists want equality they should support women being drafted!” is one of the best examples of why it’s bad that feminism is misconceived as being about equality to men rather than liberation from men. men create war, men created the draft, we don’t want anything to do with it. I don’t want equal opportunity to be sent to war to harm women in other countries.
tired: let women be drafted uwu
wired: abolish the draft
inspired: abolish the military
this local woman who has a tomboy kid reached out to my butch group to see if a few of us wouldn’t mind having brunch with her family and a couple more of the girls tomboy friends, cuz she read that it’s important for your development to have adult versions of “people like you” in your life when you’re growing up. which is definitely true. so we’re going over tomorrow. can you believe that? like, I’m gonna cry.
“My child is a tomboy so I’m going to assume that she’s going to be a butch lesbian, no pressure AT ALL though.”
Kids are developing and figuring themselves out, personally I don’t find it appropriate to reach out to lesbians for help with your tomboy child. Honestly sounds like she’s just decided her kids a lesbian :/
I can kind of understand the development thing but children will often grow and develop on their own, surrounding them with what you say they might look like in the future kind of puts the pressure on to stay masculine so that they look like the people around them. It happened to me with being surrounded by straight people and girly girls, I felt like that was exactly what I needed to be because that was what I was experimenting with at the time. Just let your kids be kids without interfering with experimentation :/
@discourseuwu @kcsplace Oh boy. Here’s the thing, you dorks: its not about making sure they turn out gender nonconforming, its that they don’t KNOW THAT THEY CAN if they don’t SEE IT. When I was a kid I had no fucking clue that you could grow up and be an adult and never ever have to make yourself change. In fact around 11 (the age they are) is the age that most parents and peers decide is the time you must stop being a tomboy at all costs and “grow up,” “growing up” here being synonymous with being feminine. This mom has already had people harassing her kid in bathrooms and school trips for years, has seen firsthand her child’s self esteem dropping, and is trying to make sure that she knows that there are lots of people out there who look like her and its and OK thing to be. We’re not heinous degenerate homo’s corrupting the pure lily youth. These kids are ALREADY EXPERIENCING SOCIAL PUNISHMENT for being the way they are, god forbid their parents want to give them some balance and information on purpose rather than letting them think there aren’t any gender nonconforming adults, because there weren’t any in their lives yet and that’s an incredibly alienating, isolating, and displacing experience for a child.
