His hands went to grab another doughnut from the box, blindy moving while his eyes stayed glued to the TV. They found a gargantuan, cinnamon-coated sweet that took both hands to wrench loose of its too small container, and, again, two hands to lift up to his mouth to take a bite. Crumbs fell and coated his chest, as did a light blanketing of cinnamon; he didn't bother to wipe either off, even as the cinnamon started to itch a bit.

It was easy for him to imagine sitting there like that for the rest of the day, working through his stockpile of snacks until it was time to lumber to the bathroom, and then to bed. His phone calls and texts from work would go unanswered, and he'd still feign illness when he finally did reply- even as he was settling into bed with a microwave dinner meant for an entire family, and thinking of how he'd put off the hassle of a shower until the morning.

His heart would skip a beat or two as he started to fall asleep, and he knew that he'd have to get that snore checked out soon, if he ever wanted a friend (or, of course, someone more than a friend) to be able to spend the night with him, but again- he'd deal with it tomorrow.

He had every reason to stop- his job, his social life, his health- but he would think about that tomorrow.
