There you may find something you may love, something you can play with, something to touch, only once, and something to hold onto. - Ovid, The Art of Love
The sacral crown prince of the Franks gets lost in the woods one day, and is rescued by a friend with questionable history and intentions. Will he accept strange affections or continue to resist them? Is sacredness the only route to power? The answer MAY SURPRISE YOU (or not...). Tags: Richard the Lionheart x Philippe Auguste (long before they had earned those specific epithets, though) It's historical, but meant to be understandable as a standalone story. 18+ please.
CWs: period-typical homophobia, period-typical dubious consent (and fantasies), agegap. (some more context and information can be seen on my site.)
Specs:
It's 36 pages, black and white with color covers, 8.5"x5.5" (half letter size.) The Digital Version includes a 14 page bonus pdf of extra doodles and commentary.
I am pleased to note that this comic received a lovely blurb from @blrecs 's Manga Ichiba 2026 Doujinshi overview, which also describes some other amazing comics as well.
Thank you all who have supported my work <3 Since this comic is the first part of a two-part story I'm hoping to complete by this fall or the end of this year, if you're interested in keeping up with my art and projects, I've started a more official-ish Email List for updates. Sign up and join me on my art and comic journey!
“When you are washing the dishes, washing the dishes must be the most important thing in your life. Just as when you are drinking tea, drinking tea must be the most important thing in your life. Drink your tea slowly and reverently, as if it is the axis on which the whole world revolves—slowly, evenly, without rushing toward the future. Live the actual moment. Only this actual moment is life.”

Yamagishi Ryouko - Pannychis (1976)
With this, all three stories in Siren are scanlated now!
This story takes its name from an actual poem, André Chenier's Pannychis. I want to leave it here as well, because poetry translation is another level and I'm far from anywhre near that level:
A nicer English translation of the poem is available in Eleanor Farjeon's The Little Bookroom, so I urge you to read that.
The beautiful double spread above is also used as the cover of another Yamagishi compilation, Syrinx Pan.
