Don’t worry about this for now but eventually nicholas and anne(?) who is his friend have a massive fight in the story and stop talking to each other in the most awkward way possible and it’s a shame they don’t have social media because the characters in the england b-plot would all be an extremely insular mutual circle on twitter or instagram and she would start dramatically vaguing about betrayal but slowly escalate to posting things like ‘italian-speaking catholic men with black hair and a philosophy degree from norfolk are evil’ like everyone who sees that isn’t going to have to look her in the eyes in real life half an hour from hitting make post

Anne’s big character trait probably is that she has serious anger issues which is not good for a woman who runs a turbo treasonous underground organisation in early modern england but it’s ok because she only expresses it by occasionally snapping and punching a hole in their 200 year old metre thick wood and solid stone wall because she dropped her pen and then refusing to discuss the incident ever again with anyone. women in male fields

what would margaret name a horse? does she like animals? what does she do in the mornings?

She’s not given to flights of fancy at all so her horse is just called agnes because it was the first girls name she thought of. her dog is called thomas for a similar reason

She wouldn’t mind animals of course but she’s also very neat and hates when they make a mess so she only likes animals to a point. she keeps hawks and hunting dogs (despite being a greyhound thomas is more like the equivalent of a crusty white dog than one of the dogs she keeps for hunting) because there's nothing else to do but she wouldn't want them in the house.

In the mornings she lays in bed and answers correspondence. you will not make her get up early #yay

Somehow managed to finish both jock and margaret references today so next will be nicholas’s neurotic best friend unless anyone feels very strongly about any of the others on that list I posted last night

Willie named his horse black powder because he’s an edgelord. jock named his horse after the king because he’s a crazed nationalist. archie doesn’t name his horses because it makes him too sad when they die. nicholas named his horse after some saint and then it died and he felt guilty. anthony didn’t name his horse he asked margaret’s dad what he should name it and ended up with something stupid I haven’t decided yet. bess named her horse some shit like Fortitude because she’s a puritan
