Ran so fast to read the new chapter of IO and if wet cat Nexus bristled right up with Moon, I can't imagine how he'd get looking at Monty again post-shock therapy at the cage 😬

Can you tell us any fun facts about Dark Sun in your TSAMS AU?

Oh man, what can we give you…

- He gets cold easily, especially for someone who’s holed himself up in a drafty old castle. ESPECIALLY for a Sun.

- He’s a lying liar who lies (to you, to me, to the cast, to himself)

- Speaking of, for someone who “doesn’t care too much”, he certainly feels the need to disclaim it a whole awful lot.

- He doesn’t eat much, but when he does, it’s usually the blandest and worst foods because he hates himself. Nex was right to do a double take when he gave him a cookie.

- He originally took better care of himself, but now he’s a bit worse for wear. It’s easy not to notice it, but when you do, you realise he’s kind of like a vampire still hanging around in old Victorian clothing because he never got around to actually doing anything about it.

- The chips on his rays are very sensitive. Kind of like if you break a tooth.

- Speaking of his rays, they work differently from Sun’s- his are more rigid and will retract away from touch like little cat ears. Very touch averse unless it’s on his terms. Kind of skittish. Bedraggled, one might say.

Wait, is the second fic basically a second idea you had with Nexus in lalt but couldn't add it cause you had something better in mind that would make more sense with the lore?

Because that's kinda what I do with my fics. One usually ends up with four different paths from a certain moment because I also liked the way it would go😭

Yessss that is pretty much what is happening :3c a million branches, a million possibilities!

We sorta thought of IO like another path - that if Sun and Nexus got to talk it out before the nsp went too far, before the villain arc really kicked off into full swing, would Nexus ever hear Sun out? What would that look like? How would Sun coax Nexus - stubborn impossible being that he is during his villain arc - back to the house? How would everybody (including him) take to him staying? It wouldn’t be easy, sure, but the idea of it being “completely impossible” defeats the purpose of the multiverse for us. And so we ran with it! And now we have IO where Sun is taking baby steps to try to rehabilitate his wet cat of a brother.

LaLT is gonna take the scenic route like it was always planned to - awkward reluctant villain bonding, the negative star power is gonna go a whole different way, and the family are going to keep bumping into each other whether they like it or not (and even then it won’t always be for strictly good or bad reasons). IO meanwhile basically diverges from lore entirely at this point to drop these silly creatures on an island and let them figure their stuff out slowly and awkwardly. Just with the same leading path up until the end of chapter 11 of lalt. :>

Hello, I have a question. Since you are both working on lalt, how does it work? I'm probably asking out od curiosity because I never worked with anyone but uh.. Anyway, is it: one of you draw and the other one is writing? Or is it mixed?

Maybe I'll work with someone too in the future. I wish I could, mostly on fnaf things since it's my biggest hyperfixation🥹

Hello!

We do a mix of both! We discuss and plan what happens in each chapter and then take turns writing sections, editing sections and stitch them all together and then we both read it to make sure it all flows how we want it and/or make any last minute adjustments. Sometimes we roleplay segments too to figure out the mood/dialogue.

We do the same for drawing- we'll discuss what we want to portray and then one of us will sketch, the other lineart and colour and then the other will do a bunch of the finalising and effects, and the next one will be the other way around!

Some of the asks are drawn by one of us when only one of us has the time <3

If you find someone you work well with, it's definitely worth it and we definitely recommend!
