The most basic notions of ‘host hospitality’ seem to have been apparently utterly lost on ‘him,’ “fine, you can get your room.” He says, taking a few steps down the long set of stairs, at the front of the particularly overbearing house he resided in.

“And what were you even doing here? This late? It’s hardly the most lively spot.”

The sudden rudeness catches her off guard, but she answers the question anyways. “There was an incident at the camp I was at. This was the first place I saw so I pulled in.”

It had been an awful and long night, and Tiffany wanted to do nothing more than sleep. It would probably be a better plan to get farther away from that wretched camp, but the car was out of gas and she didn’t exactly want to go home, so she figured this was the best she could do for now.

“What woman? Do you mean the owner? It’s a man and he’s not here right now..” Tiffany’s voice shakes. She has no idea what this thing wants, but while she talked she had been slowly backing away, trying to think of an opportunity to get away.

        With but a small tilt of his head Michael stepped to the side, behind a tree and, for a SHORT amount of time, stepped away from the trunk of it to expose his very being for but a few seconds—enough to show a pale glimpse amongst dark bark and thick fog. 

        O’, how he loved to play with prey.

Her breath caught in her throat as she saw the slightest glimpse of a figure. She didn’t see it for even that long, but there was a feeling in her gut that there was something very, very off about it. 

Tiffany turned back to the way she was walking and sped up, not running yet, but she was prepared to. She was trying her best to keep quiet, but her heavy breathing gave her away.

    He sang in his mother language, his timbre of voice flat and calm. He was looking at the people around him and he got distracted with the beauty of it all, he can’t believe this is true, his dream of play Lelio come true.  A smile crept on his lips.

Tiffany wasn’t supposed to be backstage. It had taken a lot of sneaking around, but she just had to see the inner workings of the theater. She enjoyed seeing the plays quite a bit, and seeing all the ropes and catwalks behind the magic was quite interesting.

She thought she was alone, but a soft singing caught her attention, leading her eyes in its direction. It was the star actor, the one playing the role of Lelio. Needless to say she was starstruck.

“Your voice is beautiful.”
