Meg couldn’t help the soft sigh that left her as Flora worried about her. “Relax, I’m fine. Just lightheaded. I told you I can handle this, and I want to be able to do this alone if I need to.” She knew that Flora was just trying to be a good girlfriend, but Meg needed to be able to do this alone again, it wasn’t just a want. She’d gotten too comfortable having someone by her side; she couldn’t depend on people for her entire life, and it wouldn’t get easier if Flora was always coddling her. As much as she liked knowing someone was always there if she needed them, part of her could never fully rely on that. “You know I had to do this on my own before you came along, right?” 

“I know,” Flora said quietly as they walked, “but... Meg, you’re not alone anymore. You have me, and my sisters would be more than willing to go with you if for some reason I couldn’t.” Deep down Flora knew that Meg just wanted to have a little independence from her condition, but that didn’t stop Flora from worrying.

“I just don’t want anything to happen to you,” Flora smiled softly and pressed a small kiss to Meg’s cheek, “I love you too much.”

She knew that her sister wasn’t working, so she went heading to the park to find the girl. With her was a basket of sweets that she’d made, hoping her sister would take some off of her hands. “Of course I do!” Fauna grinned as she sat down, putting the basket down. “I made some sweets so take what you want. I’ve been baking a lot recently, but only because I think I’m getting better.” 

“Ooh!” Flora wiggled excitedly and looked around the basket at the sweets Fauna had to offer before taking a blueberry muffin from the bunch. She peeled the wrapper off and took a bite. Fauna was right. She was getting better at baking, so much so that the only thing off was that the cake was a little dry. 

“This is really good!” Flora giggled, “You are getting better. Good job, Faun. What are you up to today?”

When Flora wasn't at work, she was most likely to be found in the park or in her room sketching down designs. Today she was at the park, baby blue checkered blanket sprawled underneath her as she leaned against a large oak tree. She had a book settled in her lap and she was positively engulfed in it, at least until she heard someone clear their throat.

"Oh, hello!" Flora grinned brightly, "Want to sit?"

Meg wandered around the town with her bag in hand after her doctor’s appointment that afternoon. Normally, she had someone with her for these appointments, but she just really didn’t want to deal with anyone worrying about her right now. She always felt kind of faint and dizzy after her appointments, and it seemed to make her more approachable and meniable to conversations. She spotted a familiar face and made her way up to them, giving them a smile and a slight sway in her walk. “You up to anything fun tonight?”

Flora wandered around downtown, looking through the windows of the shops passing by with a shopping bag full of fabric and sewing needles in her hand. She had planned on accompanying Meg to her doctor’s appointment, but when her love insisted on going herself, Flora didn’t put up a fight. Instead, she just made herself busy downtown until Meg’s appointment was over with. 

When she turned a corner and bumped into her girlfriend, Flora tried to hold back a smile but it wasn’t very convincing. She cleared her throat and linked their arms together, “I know you said you wanted to go alone, but you get wobbly after your appointments and I got worried.” She briefly chewed on her bottom lip, “How are you feeling?”

Dimension Shift Bio || Flora Benevolia || 21 || Lower-Middle Class

Born in South Korea, Flora grew up in Idaho with her adoptive mother and sisters. They weren’t rich, but they weren’t poor either. They had enough to get by safely, and that was more than enough for Flora. When Flora turned 13, she managed to earn a full ride scholarship to the prestigious Ilvermorny boarding school in Massachusetts. It was hard leaving her family, but her sisters followed in her footsteps and now they all attend Ilvermorny together. In between classes, she searches for information regarding her birth family and where she came from.

In addition to studies and looking for her birth family, she spends a lot of time caring for her girlfriend, Megara. Her condition requires continuous blood transfusions, and Flora is there for her whenever she needs it. Flora also works at a club near Ilvermorny as a waitress, and though the atmosphere can be a little scary sometimes, she ultimately enjoys her work.

It was sweet that Flora was so worried about her, and that alone was enough to help the bit of hurt she was feeling at the moment regarding the whole situation. She’d been calling Ilvermorny home for years, and now she wasn’t allowed to be there anymore. He didn’t say she couldn’t visit, but it wasn’t the same. “I’ll be fine with it, Hades taught me more than I could ever learn here about politics. The club is more than enough for me. I have people to take care of, watch over and make sure they follow the rules. I’ll be fine, I promise.” Meg gave Flora a reassuring smile and pulled her in for yet another kiss, her arms wrapping around her waist and holding her close. “I should pack, though. I’ve got to have everything out of here by the ninth.”

“Do you have to start packing right this minute?” Flora pouted softly as she pulled away from their kiss, her fingertips gently stroking the soft skin of Meg’s thigh, “I haven’t seen you all day...” She leaned forward and nestled her head onto her girlfriend’s shoulder, cuddling into her touch. 

“Can we stay at the cottage this weekend?” Flora pulled back tucked her hair behind her ear, “Just you and me?”

Meg smiled at her girlfriend as she headed down the hall toward her. “Oh, no, don’t worry about that. The headmaster seems to think there’s some sort of truth to rumors, but I shut him down quickly.” She leaned in and pressed a quick kiss to Flora’s lips before leaning back against the doorframe. “I haven’t been keeping on top of my school stuff what with the club and the coven taking up all my time, so I’m being expelled as a response to that. It’s fine, though, I’m over this place anyway. I was only staying here because it kept me away from Hades, and now that he’s not here, what’s the point, right?” 

Flora giggled happily at Meg’s kiss and pulled her back in for another one, sweet and lingering. She took Meg’s hand and led her into her dorm so they could talk privately. “But will you be okay with not completing your specialization?” Flora asked as she held Meg’s hand in both of hers, “Will the club be enough for you?” She would support Meg in whatever she decided to do, no matter what, she just wanted the love of her life to be happy and content.

Meg had made her way to her Horned Serpent dorm and was standing in the doorway just staring at the mess that needed to be boxed up and then brought to the house. She sighed softly and leaned against the frame, already exhausted. Meg heard the sound of footsteps coming down the hall toward her, and she turned her head to look at them. “Did you hear? They’re kicking me out.”

With the warmer weather and bright sunshine reigning over campus, Flora thought a picnic would be perfect. Possibly in a clearing in the woods or by the lake, somewhere pretty and peaceful. Clad in a baby blue sundress with a picnic basket in hand, Flora made her way over to Horned Serpent to see if Meg was around. She climbed the staircase and smiled happily when she saw her girlfriend looking as radiant as ever, but she quickly noticed something was off about her.

“Honey, is everything alright?” Flora asked as she approached and her jaw dropped at the news, “Kicking you out? But why? Did... Did someone say something about the club?” Her voice dropped to a lower tone as she spoke.

“Well you needn’t worry, we won’t have anymore martyrs as long as I’m around. There’s a reason I’m trying to promote proper defensive magic in the school and how to handle yourself in a duel or battle.” He’d suggest learning even illegal magic if he could. Merlin knew he spent his entire life practicing and learning it himself. How else was he supposed to figure where they’d stuck him and how they’d gotten him to stay there in the first place? 

“You sound fond of her. Is she a personal friend of yours or something?” he asked casually, going for unsuspecting. “The only time I’ve spoken to her, it was when Cato was suspending her from the school. Which is unfortunate because I heard she was a really great student once. Looking around, though, it seems this might be where her talents lie.” 

“She’s my girlfriend,” Flora nodded with a little blush. It was odd for her to speak so openly about their relationship with someone like the headmaster. It’s not like she had a problem talking with people about her girlfriend, she just hoped the headmaster was on the right side of history and didn’t take issue with it. However, then he brought up Meg’s suspension and Flora sighed with a little shake of her head.

“I know it’s not my business, who you decide to suspend or not suspend, but I just don’t understand why you suspended her for being behind in classes.” Flora spoke confidently, “I know our studies are our priority while we’re at Ilvermorny, but it doesn’t make sense to make a student miss more class material just for being a little behind. She’s very good at what she does here, yes, but her studies are equally important.”

Flora sighed in contentment as Meg moved back up to her neck. The love and lust she felt for her girlfriend was so overwhelming, and she loved how overcome she was by it. She sat herself up on Meg’s desk and connected their lips slowly and passionately as her fingertips gently ran over the zipper of Meg’s dress.

“I love you,” Flora whispered softly as her nails dragged against Meg’s thigh, “I want you, too.”

“Even the headmaster needs to take a break sometimes. I can’t live in that office all the time, now can I?” he asked with a deep laugh. He poured the tonic in his glass and gave it a swirl before taking a long drink from it. “Nothing compares to a classic.” Gin was disgusting, but somehow, it became not so bad when you added another gross thing to it. 

“Everything is fine, don’t you worry. I was just curious. I had a conversation with Fauna and I like to make sure I know my students, that’s all. There will not be another attack while I’m here. At least, I’ll do my best to make sure there isn’t.” He looked around the club again and then back to Flora. “What can you tell me about this place? I’ve heard a lot of rumors about it. And that a student is running it. Quite impressive if you ask me.”

“I suppose that’s true,” Flora giggled. The chaos of taking over for Cato definitely wasn’t easy, she agreed with his need for a break. She let out a sigh of relief when he confirmed that everything was okay. Flora always worried about her sisters, even more so with all the hunter attacks happening recently. “I hope there isn’t, everything was fine until Tinley decided to be a martyr for the “unnoticed” purebloods.” Her words were bitter, which was rare for Flora.

“Well, we’ve only been open for a few months. The old owner had to leave Greylock’s either for business or a family emergency, I can’t remember which,” Flora remembered Meg’s warning to not go around telling what kind of clients they served, so Flora came up with her own unsuspecting story, “but he was mentoring Meg before he left, so I guess he decided to test her ability to run things. It’s amazing that she does it all on her own. I’m very proud of her.” Flora’s voice was soft and fond as she spoke of her girlfriend.

Bill didn’t make it a habit to go out and experience the nightlife, but it had also been centuries since he’d had the chance to. So he made his way to the underworld and found himself a spot in the lounge. He looked about at the clientele and knew that the rumors about the club had to be true. 

As he looked up at his waitress, Bill smiled. “I’ll take a gin and tonic, please. Forgive me if this is out of line, but you’re Fauna Benevolia’s sister, correct?” He’d made sure to do his homework on the students that came to visit his office, and it helped when it gave him reason to look into other students as well. 

"Headmaster!” Flora was caught off guard for a moment, “Sorry, I didn’t expect to see you here. Gin and tonic, sounds good.” She grabbed a glass from underneath the counter and poured the gin in before grabbing a small can of tonic water from the mini fridge. Flora put a slice of lemon on the rim before setting the glass and can in front of her customer.

“Oh, yes! I am,” Flora smiled as she wiped down the counter, “there’s three of us, actually. I’m the eldest. Fauna’s in the middle and then Merriweather’s the youngest. Why, is everything alright? Was there another attack”? Flora tended to lose track of time when she was at work given how dark the club was, who knew what was going on in the outside world.

“Ok mom!” Fauna smiled sweetly. She’d been so distracted that she’d completely missed the smell of food currently wafting through the house. Normally she would have offered to help, not that her mother ever let her, but she also knew that their mother wouldn’t mind. Especially considering she was the reason the girl was there at all, although her mission had most likely failed. 

Jumping up from her seat on the bed, she looked to her sister. “We should probably get down there, before she makes us eat on the floor.” She giggled before making her way down the stairs and into their kitchen. Fauna made her way over to the cabinet to start setting out the plates. 

“Like the last time we came home, right?” Flora giggled and followed after her sister. While Fauna got the plates, Flora got the napkins and the silverware and set them in the correct place settings. Flora was getting the cups out of the cabinet when she spoke again.

“Mom, what about Merriweather? Is she coming home for dinner too?” Then she turned her attention to Fauna, “What do you want to drink, Faun?”

“Thanks,” Jack plucked the lime from the rim and dropped it into the glass. It could’ve been water for all Jack cared. It did nothing. Well, it gave him a cover. That was about it.

“Don’t worry,” he looked around, “I can’t tell by a glance. It takes an experienced palette to discern the difference.”

“Do they taste different?” Flora asked curiously, “The blood types. Like, is one sweeter and another more bold?” She knew that she apparently tasted like sunshine to Meg, though what sunshine actually tasted like was still a mystery. It surprised her sometimes how comfortable she had gotten with Meg’s vampirism and the concept of drinking blood.
