Day 3 Sunset at #esplanade was absolutely beautiful. If water is not an issue, it'd be a great place to set up camp. Watching rocks catching fire :) #wildland #grandcanyon #backcountry #backpacking

Day 3 I arrived here first and had a wonderful time exploring the spring. The trail lead to all the way underneath the spring fall, and it reminds me so much of Chinese Novel "Journey to the West" - monkey king was probably commanding his fellows in a place just like this. It's so out of this world. #grandcanyon #backcountry #backpacking #wildland

Day 3 We set out late since arrived at camp site at midnight the day before. Our goal was to hike all the way out of the canyon back to civilization and catch our flight at 11 PM. Well, we knew that last part wouldn't be possible, but we still had to leave the canyon on this day. The trail started heading to a red wall that seemed to have no way out. When I saw this spring, on one hand, I was again amazed by the view of water gushing out of cliff wall, on the other hand, I was worried that this was just a side trail for exploring this spring, and all the work we did climbing up here would go to waste. #grandcanyon #wildland #backcountry #backpacking

There were a lot of lizards in the canyon, and I think one of them broke my peanut bag. At Yosemite, my peanut bag was broken by a squirrel and he stole all of my nuts when we were having lunch and not looking!! This time, my peanut bag was bitten open twice, but no significant loss of nuts - I will have to start carry the canned nuts. Wild animals go nuts for nuts! #GrandCanyon #BackCountry #Lizard

I was so relieved when we finally arrived the camp ground by about 9 pm. We set up the tent and made dinner. But I passed out the moment I blew up the air pad. We woke up at 3 am and ate the dinner we prepared the night before - there goes how tired we were. #wildland #backpacking #Camping #GrandCanyon #BackCountry #NorthRim
