So after many years, I found myself wanting to rejoin the Tumblr world. I missed having an outlet that I felt I could be 100% honest on. I tried with Instagram, yet could never find the courage to press the post button for anything other than mediocre selfies and photos of benches.
I stopped using tumblr in around 2015, and so much has happened since then. I found it so interesting scrolling through lots of my previous posts (not all- that will take years!) and it highlighted to me how bitter and sad I used to be. I was a teenager, and I am now an adult, and the events from there and here, have been momentous in my life, defining almost everything I have become. From reaching rock bottom with my alcoholism, I had reached the point of no return and I had to work so hard to get to the point that I’m at today - just over 18 months sober. To gaining - and losing - 7 stone, replacing my old habits with new, positive ones. Falling in love with walking and exercise, after a previous love affair with alcohol and dominoes pizza. To becoming a mother, and all the hurdles that came with that, spending a couple years being a single mother, building myself up and having the belief in myself that I can do it. To falling in love, and having love returned, from someone who I never thought. Life can surprise you in many ways. So hey, Tumblr, I’m back.
