seeing posts about scarlet hollow that boil down to “I don’t think the authors thought through [x issue which is a main theme of the game and driving force for a story that has been in development for 4+ years]” and it’s driving me bonkers.

Kaneeka is Black on purpose. Sybil is white on purpose. Avery is Black and trans on purpose. Kaneeka’s arc is entirely dependent upon being a Black daughter of a white mom. Avery’s arc is entirely dependent upon being a trans, Black transplant in a tight knit rural community. Kaneeka’s arc can end a certain way on purpose. You can completely miss Avery in a play-through on purpose.

Scarlet Hollow chapters aren’t being posted 3 hours after completion with a half-assed beta proofread. [holding you very gently but firmly] sometimes, bad things are included in stories on purpose.
