Graphic Voice brief
Found this little fella in the front garden this evening and it reminded me of that jewellery advert I saw on Instagram..so I accessorised the scene…
What does the snail symbolise in relation to jewellery? Does it signify a ‘timeless’ piece? Jewellery that is adaptable, steady and flexible?
Such a stark contrast between the shiny and beautifully designed pieces with these slimy/grey beings.
“is laziness pushing us to design solutions”.
I was listening to Heart Radio today and they mentioned it was national laziness day. They were giving examples of the lazy things people had done.
Things like eating dinner from a clingfilm covered plate so that it wouldn’t need to be cleaned and downloading a remote control app on the telly because they were too lazy to reach for it!
I looked around the house to find examples of this and found the toilet roll on the holder..cheers sis!
So could ‘laziness’ be a potential source for a design idea? Something that could solve our human ‘slothness’?

These are the photos that I was particularly attracted to whilst looking through his website. Compared to the flash driven/ in your face photos he is most known for, I felt more enticed by this approach of his.
Framing is something very particular about his work. I love how although there is so much happening and so many details and characters to look at, the eye is very much drawn to one area in particular which almost seems posed and planned to be so.

I took this photo on my new 35mm camera I purchased at the boot fair last week.
What I love about film is that it is so unexpected and can sometimes create imagery like this one that I could not have imagined purposely doing myself.
I did a lot of work on multiple exposure and this type of layering effect during Alevel photography, so this takes me back to that experimenting and taking chances stage I threw myself into my project last year.

A couple of photographs I really liked from my Instagram feed this week.
Gabriele Micalizzi - winner of Master of Photography on Sky Arts.
Really enjoyed the way he works and the work he produced on the competition so I looked at some of his ‘photojournalism’ portfolios online, these are the shots I was most drawn to.
Instead of buying a new set..
