Every day I think about Tenno who get too used to the capabilities of one Warframe or another and attempt to draw upon them even when they're in Transference with someone else, or even in their own human bodies.
Uriel and Titania mains who try to fly. Nidus and Inaros mains who walk straight into clouds of poison gas. Loki mains who instinctively try to turn invisible when they're in a tight spot. The brief moment of disorientation when the body they're in just won't work the way they expected it to.
Gameplay has honed certain instincts and reflexes into us based on the frames we love, and I think the Tenno are the same.
I'm one of them. I played so much Zephyr for so long that it fucked with my parkour skills ENTIRELY, (though admittedly also made me way better/more accurate) and I kept tapping/holding 1 on instinct to try and hover/airdash. Every other warframe feels weird. Like, too heavy, weird. It still gets me sometimes LOL
Just a reminder that I have an ArtFight profile and will be doing my best this year to participate a little bit more than last year (which was a little bit more than the year before, etc.)

Warframe is a game where forward progress becomes very unintuitive after a certain point. (Thanks to The Teacher modding tutorial quest added in 2025, that point is no longer "fifteen minutes in"). This is Warframe's greatest weakness, but also the unavoidable cost of it's greatest strength. I guarantee that nearly every time a Warframe player asks themselves "how do I improve my XYZ?" or "how do I get XYZ?" the inevitable result will be a multi-stage rabbit hole that takes them through multiple gameplay systems.
For instance, I wanted to get a copy of Thermite Rounds. This led to wanting to build a Wukong to cheese the high-level Spy missions it drops from. I had to go to the Void to pick up some Argon Crystals (I think these were for Wukong, but I've needed a lot of Argon Crystals recently, so maybe not). Once I had those, I realized I was short one Nitain Extract. Easiest way to get those is from Nightwave... but I had just spent all my Nightwave currency on Kuva (and Nitain Extract for a different Warframe). What Nightwave objectives can I do? Well, there's the Railjack missions, but I don't have a Railjack. I did Rising Tide to build my own Railjack (I was grandfather'd past where it normally happens in progression). Now I'm learning how to do Railjack missions (big fan, by the way). I play mostly solo (so I can pause), which meant grinding Intrinsics for my Railjack so I can get up to Command 5 for three AI crew members. Unbeknowst to me at the time, by hiring a pilot and a gunner, I've unlocked a stupid fast Credits farm. After my Eighth Railjack mission, I've earned a hefty chunk of Nightwave progress. But I have a locked Nightwave objective, too. I need to finish The Deadlock Protocol, so I make that quest my next active one and the cycle continues.
The thing that makes this work is the fact that I'm being pulled through so many varied gameplay systems that are all fun and feel fully fleshed-out. This is the ideal version of the thing you get from a live service game.
In today's episode of "Spud is deeply amused and entertained by the wonderful weirdness that is Warframe":
DE can get away with mutilating a named character for a Prime trailer specifically because that character exists in an explicit time loop and therefore their on-screen death is, simultaneously

not needing to be referenced in dialogue because that character's memories will be wiped in the next time loop
Warframe is a game about forgiveness and redemption and how your origins and the circumstances of your birth don't define who you are, and I firmly believe Albrecht Entrati is the character who truly puts that philosophy to the test.
Can he change? Can he get better? After everything? Yes, he can, but he has to want it, truly really want it. No excuses, no martyrdom, just a step-by-step process of a new life. There will be no grand execution or sacrifice, you simply have to return to your home, to your family, and change, every day, bit by bit.
Warframe is about redemption, but it is also about choice, and under Eternalism, we always have a choice and we are constantly making choices.
im a big fan of 'they came back but wrong' when it comes to drifter having void corruption, like the metal + void light scarring across their skin, the glowing eyes and all that. but i kinda forgot about the hex comic and i realize ive definitely underutilized that when it comes to the hex.
also i wish some of the canon material would properly showcase just how horrifying letties abilities are. like they're kinda what sets trinity apart from the classic support/healer archetype and what makes lettie such a great trinity protoframe. it's such a shame that we only really see aoi and eleanors powers properly used. (i know we see the guys powers too, but speed, sword and wallhacks are such a tiny part of their abilities so i dont feel like it really counts)
like other than healing, trinity's abilities lets lettie mitigate damage she takes to her enemies, steal energy and suspend someone to die in place of an ally. like that's just the short version, and it would have been so cool to see that outside the game play mechanics. because she's so much more than just the teams medic, and the game never really showcasing what she's capable of doing now is such a missed opportunity.
your average scaldra soldier runs into lettie on patrol. they all shoot her but she barely flinches. instead the scaldra closest to her cries out in pain. she gestures to the soldier next to you, their body twisting as their feet leave the ground, their body levitating, unable to move a finger. she empties her mag into them. they dont even twitch.
she should be exhausted after holding them all off for so long, maybe she evens begins to show signs of it. then she points to you and exhaustion just hits you, all while she seems invigorated. she finally release her hold over the soldier next to you, and they just drop dead. every muscle in you body aches, you legs give in and before you hit the ground, you're dead.
like letties abilities are so much more than just healing and i just wish there was more focus on how the rest of the hex has like super fucked up powers now, not just eleanor.

Started playing Warframe. Or the correct term is space trauma simulator idk
currently playting as dagath in wf and i keep giggling my ass off when i use her fourth ability. fuck you. quadruple horse attack
ultimately i think when the people in present-time warframe origin system say 'orokin' they mostly mean high society orokin because everyone else who survived has been like, transformed or folded into something else. like the grineer are their own thing now. regular citizens that presumably descended from regular citizens who lived under orokin rule likely answer to whatever planet colony they're on, not a long fallen empire's name. like cetus! they're ostrons now, even with the unum chillin' in the back. the holdfasts also... like, do their own thing.
and. well. high society orokin were uh. highly likely to be engaged in at least one form of morally dubious activity, in order to survive in a culture rife with morally dubious activity. they could get away with less if they were sitting on some kind of resource or were essential to the running of something that needed their input, i think.
all that doesn't produce people who are likely to be responsible with power. I'd be at the very least wary of anyone calling themselves orokin if i didn't know anything else about them.
Yeah! Canonically the Orokin empire was like.
Everybody in the orokin empire.
While the corpus have a signature Look, they were canonically basically just the middle class and merchant class folks within the empire. There were orokin peasants, and while the grineer were made as the labor force, due to the Zariman, we also know that there were low to mid class folks who did also do labor and the like.
The drifter and operator Are Canonically Orokin in the sense that they came from that empire.
Its really quite similar to America’s situation, from my understanding. A few bastards at the top who make things absolute nightmares for everyone below them, and 95% of the population is actually basically mid/low class in comparison.

Like cool the main character is allowed to pursue polyam in a dating sim, awesome, but it was implemented really clunky in general, and having the orokin noble boytoy laugh about "haha oh such old ideals like monogamy!" Like polyam as only really a facet of the fascist and hedonistic tyranny before you have the option to do it is hmmmmmm
