Welcome to the Higanbana Blog

This blog is dedicated to a AHIT au that I am making named Final Hours

Final Hours is a combination of darker settings and arcane like story which puts Hat Kid in much more serious position and also has the darker elements and tone established to the story

The story can be found in this blog with occasional lore drops. The QnA is available for those confused and interested in figure out more of the story. Prepare for the story leading much darker than what Hat Kid was previously in.

Story 104

Arc 4

Hattie woke up in an absolute panic. She sat up looking around. Where’s everyone..? Narrowing her eyes, she seemed to not have found them anywhere near here. “What the hell..?” She said to herself. She quickly got her umbrella and started running around to make sure. Around the entire trees and landscape, the footsteps would be heard all over. Turning and switching directions to find everyone, it felt like an endless maze with no goal in mind. It seemed to have stopped when it was at a certain area. The entire thing seemed to have been filled to the brim with fighting around.

“Ah, look who finally decided to wake up from their dream and join us after.” Empress would say while stretching like it was just a simple warm up. Bow turned her head from a higher place to see Hattie. “Hurry up! We’ll continue to take up more time.” Maria yelled while giving more arcane attacks. Before Hattie knew it, Empress turned her attention to the attacks and quickly deflected them, slashing through like it was paper. The sped she was at seemed to be faster than Hattie can even go at. Hattie widened her eyes, watching that moment. This fight wasn’t going to be like the rest and she should take this more seriously.

The idea of a sequel to the game is so fun! The entire au is very whimsical and fun to imagine >3<

There was a really cool one that gave off fantasy vibes that I liked a lot too!!

I LOVED this one. They managed to translate AHIT into the entire underwater aesthetic and it turned out sooo good!! So whimsy..o(^-^)o

Story 103

Arc 4

(CW: Existential dread, forms of non existent gore, described holes on body)

Chains and gears seemed to have winded up. Hands of nothing spinning them to make it work. Hattie woke up. The mechanical work clacked around. “Where the hell..?” She questioned looking around. A tick of a clock chimed throughout the empty space. Hattie would slowly start to get up. Mockery of dancing by those eyes, hands, legs and mouths moving around as if to mimic it. “Long time no see, Hattie. Let’s have a talk again like old times you know?” Something spoke out. Hattie widened her eyes looking at wherever. Walking over hesitantly, she seemed to have found the only empty chair here. Snatcher would soon get himself out of somewhere, seemingly the door upfront, walking up to Hattie. “Tell me, how’ve you been? You’ve been doing well, of course don’t make it obvious, kid?” He asked but took back and laughed condescendingly to her.

Hattie was just getting even more nervous here. She didn’t like his attitude. “So what of my current situation? Don’t worry about it.” She tried to bring back her smartassery from years ago. “Tsk, tsk, don’t you understand? It’s different here now. You should realize. You’re no longer the child you were.” Hattie would widen her eyes at that. “But you still are one. At your very core. Just a tiny child. Pretending to fight the real world’s evils. But I’ll tell you the truth.” He continued before leaning down to Hattie’s height. “You’re only fighting and denying reality. How unfortunate.” He said with a smile on his face before Hattie felt that vomiting urge and blood would come out of it. Hattie coughed violently. The clock there stopped at 1. 1. Snatcher would grab Hattie’s front hair and threw on her ground off the chair. He looked back one last time through the door before turning away and it closed. The hands lurked, the eyes looking down, the mouth wanting to open but kept its twister form of a smile. Hattie saw the holes. Forming and slowly getting rid of the skin. She would turn to lay up front. The holes kept getting worse. A scream of dread was yelled throughout the entire space. The clock..changed back to 12.

Arc 4

“Listen, …I…” Bow would start off her sentence. Hattie would lay down, recovering with her injuries while listening. “Look, we both didn’t expect that huge thing. It..was just really sudden. Both of us aren’t genies.” She would say while a bit cynical. This whole thing seems tiring. “I..just wish that I was able to attack and protect better. We both got attacked so much. Almost feels like the world hates both of us.” Maria said laying down next to Hattie and sounding solemn about it. Hattie laughed but rather sounding tired. “Yea…it seems so. We’re in the world yet feels like we shouldn’t be. Kinda mean if you think about it.” Maria looked up at the roof. “If she just stopped fucking around and got to her point, then maybe it was wouldn’t be such a chase.” She said a bit impatiently.

Hattie turned to her. “I’d rather not have any of this in general. We had it good for a bit. Just only a bit.” Maria just understood what she was trying to say. “Maybe…in another universe, we lived normal lives..didn’t have to go through this..peaceful times.” Hattie listened while Maria ranted around it. “I wish it was so simple, I really do. Yet here we are.” She just seemed tired but it was rather an unfortunate truth. The stars twinkled brightly. Night was still around and quiet. Maria seemed to have fallen asleep. Hattie looked around before looking up again, “If only things had turned out differently, oh I so wish…” solemnly said to herself before continuing to look at the stars. It looked like it saying for her to not to give up but it seemed like it wouldn’t happen any time soon.

Arc 4

Looking at the volatile transmutation, this was less than pleasing. Snatcher’s expression had completely angered. He didn’t even bother to comment before walking away and checking somewhere else. Checking every drawer, shelf, nook, he saw every bit of research done for this to happen. Holding one of them and staring daggers at it, his annoyance went to being deadpanned. “Oh, how you disgust me. Breaking loyalty like that, aren’t you?” He said while throwing the paper to the ground and letting the entire thing burn. “How idiotic I was to let her in.” Muttering to himself, he would have his anger back and stood staring at another window. “You..are mad.” A softer voice echoed. Turning to Lilith, her almost pale pink like eyes stared back at him out of pure curiosity. He walked up to her while she sat down and gently grabbed both sides of her face. “You haven’t left me, planned against me, or anything of the sort. I feel free with you. You appreciate my care, don’t you..?” He asked to her while talking to her ever so gently, treating her hair like it was the most precious thing. She was. She always was. Lilith would close her eyes and reply to him, “Of course, I do.” She slowly would lean her head against him.

“I have never trusted her and yet I offered her a place. Yet she doesn’t think I won’t fulfill her promise. How unfortunate. But I don’t need you to worry about it anymore. If there’s one thing that never needs a deal, it’s what I have with you, my eternal love.” He would confess and continue his admiration for Lilith. She’d smile upon hearing his words. Just a moment without anyone, even mustache girl. Something that hasn’t happened in a long while. The bare silence of the entire building was enough. Just a moment to put his focus away from Hattie’s dreadful plan of death.

Arc 4

Kaiesha was tending to the two. “This is embarrassing…I should’ve been able to know better.” Bow said it under her breath. Hattie didn’t really hear it because of spacing out, thinking about her injuries. Jaime would’ve just finished brushing Hattie’s hair and putting it back into its ponytail. Bow leaned her head against a wall. It felt more like a lack of effort. Why wasn’t there enough for actual protection when it happened? “That was a wild encounter. What’s she got against you two anyway?” Kaiesha would question about it. “Long story…rather not talk about it.” Hattie sighed.

Bow majorly didn’t really take the time to answer Kaiesha’s question. It felt more like a suffocating wind was around the throat when trying to speak. It was like the words would’ve fallen under ears. How was she even a higher type of figure? Her expression soured even more with sadness and guilt. Bow really thought this way. Was it her only reaction..?
