The previous test brought in the jump-pads, so Angela finds herself oddly enthused and looking forward to what they have in store for her next. Through the barrier and into the elevator, to the next chamber they go.. minus a cube or radio, much to her dismay.

What sort of strategy should she use? Decisions, decisions! It wouldn't be difficult for her to play dumb ( they already don't have a very high opinion of her intelligence, but that would be the expected approach ) although she could just keep doing what she's doing currently.. but then again, the test subject was awfully curious about what were to happen if she was able to sneak behind the walls. Where would they lead, beyond gargantuan pistons and pulleys? Perhaps Angela will finally find herself someplace with proper privacy.

She doesn't have to wait long to find out what's in store for her.

The list that they show her include jump-pads, cubes, and light bridges, with cautionary symbols of potential drowning and head trauma. Gears in her mind are already turning, attempting to complete her task before it starts. She's getting ahead of herself, and her feet are walking faster than her mind can recover and allow common sense to speak up and take the wheel.

Nose crinkles as a snort leaves her, taking note of the animated " face " he gave her to communicate with. It feels a little strange, talking to an AI who responded with such quick-witted replies. It'll take getting used to, but it's nothing she can't adapt to over time.

Angela follows the glowing line on the floor, where she knows a portal will await her if she was patient. She recalls enough of what to expect before being put into cryo-sleep ; patience will be her ultimate tool, especially if the AI she'll be working with is a particularly pushy type. Part of her wonders if there are multiple AI's running, and if she might run into other subjects in the future..

She'll cross that bridge when she gets to it.

For now, Angela settles for looking around and down corridors where the primary portal on the walls connect to the next, waltzing through and taking her time to get used to her boots again. It'd be embarrassing if she stepped into a dead end or a pit, and on her first day no less! But the graying ginger gets to the main room eventually, strolling through and adapting to the odd, warming sensation that comes with portal-hopping.

❝ Oh hello, sweetness. ❞ Eyes glint as she hums in approval when the device reaches her peripheral from behind the wall of glass, and she trots with enthusiasm to the edge of the pit after crossing the door and the pre-made portals set out for her.

❝ What's the reason behind it only producing one type of portal? Why not both? ❞

I took a little break today since I’m feeling off/blue. So I made a little something for this little singing chipmunk.

Hook, line, and sinker. She wasn't anticipating that the ever-observant eye would have such a vitriolic reaction to the backtalk she's been giving it, but it's been an interesting experience doing her own tests on the AI. While Angela is uncertain how long she's been running through portals and being elevated from chamber to chamber, she is very certain that they have lost their luster. At least for the near-foreseeable future, in her opinion.

Body turns towards one of the cameras, her gun resting against her shoulder as opposed to both hands ( safety-schmafety, nothing bad has happened yet, and she's plenty careful otherwise! ) ; with her hip jutting out while her empty hand is perched on her hip, the ginger mirrors the AI's smugness with her own, if not in with slightly more exaggerated gestures.

❝ Sounds like a fitting reward. ❞ She'll have to think on what that might be, when she wins. Maybe she'll make them squirm a bit, unknowing of what she may desire. But she'll save those thoughts for later. ❝ And should you find yourself victorious, might I wager the unwavering cooperation and obedience that I had initially deceived you with? Unless you had something else in mind. ❞

He's given a soft nod, the same as before, handing him the clipboard and pen while she busies herself with his mail. He has one letter this time to go along with it, and Angela does her best not to peer over his shoulder and into his home. That would be very inappropriate given their lack of dynamic.. but a small hoard of various greens catch her gaze for the smallest moment before she recollects herself.

Hopefully, the bearded man didn't notice her peeping when he wasn't looking.

When the clipboard is given back, he's given his package while she slips her board into the back-slip of her bag. A hand raises to brush some hair behind her ear and away from the stems of her cherry-shaped earrings.

❝ Hello to you too, Mister Sawyer. Have you been enjoying summer so far? ❞ She asks, her hands motioning with a daintiness as she pairs her small talk with a small, cordial smile. ❝ The fireflies are starting to come out. I've been seeing a lot of kids try their luck at catching them. Many of their attempts are not that successful, but it's nice watching them try regardless. ❞

Great. Fucking great... another creepy, overly-observant adult to watch her, regardless of whatever he does with the information he gathers ; a real chatterbox too, someone who loved to hear himself talk. Given the fact that the only thing keeping him from completely taking over was some dangerously mysterious entity that the redhead has yet to encounter, there's the smallest chance that this Doctor might not go through with the consequences that come with her potential failure to perform.

He might, or he might not punish her.. with the lack of normal children at his disposal to take apart and rebuild, she wants to hope that he's not throwing her into danger without some kind of hint to where she's supposed to go.

This puzzle room looks like a mash-up of PJ's obstacle course and the maze-like play-place she had to traverse to get to DogDay.. she could be deaf and still feel the volume of the scurrying and cacophony of cackles and taunting beneath her feet. Monkey bars are aplenty, though there isn't a set pattern or route she can discern from the entrance of the room, at least not initially ; despite the unease that she feels when she notices the vault-like doors on either side of the room, Beverly trudges forward and continues to take notes of her surroundings.

The sooner she's out of this room and back in the caverns, the better.

Currently, she's standing in front of the elevator that leads to the next test looking displeased, but not enough to warrant a hugely negative physical response. Certainly not as annoyed as the disembodied voice, but she's on her way there. She finds it a bit odd that he's reacting so.. hm. She isn't quite sure how she'd describe it, at least in a more appropriate manner than calling it ' organic '. Aperture hasn't gotten that far with their AI, as far as she knew from back then.

Maybe more has changed while she was slumbering than she's lead to believe. The graying ginger might as well have a bit of fun with the tantruming AI if she's going to be at these tests for a good, long while.

Onto the next house, with a catchy jingle playing in her mind. Seems as cordial as she remembers, so at least he wasn't as avoidant to socializing. While she did wonder what he had ordered, it really was none of her business ( though, when did that ever stop her back when she worked at Playtime, as notorious for gossip as it was for complaints? ). It's been a decade since she left the factory, so she doesn't know how much the place had changed, if at all, since her departure. The graying ginger remembers that the employers were quite selective with who they brought onto their various teams, so maybe they were better about safety precautions from then on.

Although, now that she knows he's alive and well, Angela's a little curious as to what he's been up to since she last saw him.. she doubts that the feeling is reciprocated though, as much as she'd like to place any glimmer of hope in that particularly unpredictable basket.

From Mondays to Thursdays she drops by, slipping his mail into the slot in his door before turning to continue her route. Sometimes the ginger has half a mind to think he peeks through his curtains when she's walking up to his home ( good thing she has both halves intact! ) ; and sometimes, when she's dropping off bills and junk mail and magazines she takes a moment to pause and take note of his front porch's decorations before skittering off. Nothing on Tuesday or Wednesday needed signing, so when Angela arrives on Thursday, a piece of her is a little delighted when a fragile, small-medium sized parcel needed signing.

There is a brief knock at Harley's front door, clipboard in one hand and her empty one resting on the strap of her carrier's bag.

VERSE - POPPY PLAYTIME.

Taking place after the events of the first movie, Beverly had entered the foster system and has been placed with a quiet midwestern family.

Two years later, while her foster parents weren't home, she found a letter with a VHS tape that was addressed to one of her guardians. Judging by the decor on it, she hid and later watched the tape and read the letter, thinking it was some sort of prank being played on her guardians. When sharing her findings with her new friends, the group decided to investigate the location out of teenage curiosity, only for Beverly to be the only one to show up.

After entering the facility, Beverly's morality and willpower is put to the test as she's held captive, chased down, and forced to play games by a number of the unstable survivors locked away in the depths of Playtime Co.'s facility.
