Xiao Pai’s eyebrow rose questioningly at the child hopping up and down on their bed excitedly as if they had eaten one of the cakes that made Forte and Kiel so happy. "Oh, no, no, no! It would seem that going to bed is a must for kids, especially Xiao’s kids, yes?" The young woman launched herself at her child, arms outstretched. "To bed with you!"

"Eh…?"

Xiao Pai glanced at the said contusion on her arm that her child had their hands against, not touching it but close to doing so, in fear of accidentally hurting her. With a sigh and a reassuring smile, Xiao Pai pressed a kiss against her child’s forehead, saying, "It seems that Mama will be alright, yes? Do not worry, darling."

Xiao Pai glanced at the battleaxe collection hanging on her wall. "... Ohhhhh, I see! Yes, it would seem I can 'beat up something doubling my size', but..." She glanced at her hands. "I am... already a perpetual klutz, it is not just an impression...? But thank you anyway!"

"Awww..." Xiao Pai grinned, grateful for the elf's words. However, just as she was about to hug her in thanks, taking one step forward, she immediately tripped on air and landed face first on the floor. "... Well, it could've been worse, yes?"

Dolce wrapped each of cookie in a little pouch she had sewn, adding a little paper bat on the top to symbolize it was from her and Pico. She quietly went up to you. "Here, Xiao Pai, you can have one too." She handed the pouch to the clumsy girl. "I made too many.." She continued, still with a pokerface. She then turned her head a bit to the left. "If you don't want it, just throw it away." She muttered. "And it would be disappointing if you dropped it.."

"Hello, Dolce-"

Well, third time's the charm, wasn't it? The little pouch that had been dropped into the girl's unsuspecting palm was cute, and the small amount of effort that had been put into the pouch - and, once she opened the pouch and spotted it, the cookie - did not go unnoticed by Xiao Pai, who immediately closed the pouch again and pocketed it, just so she could make sure she wouldn't drop it. Despite Dolce's straight face, Xiao Pai couldn't help but smile.

"Thank you, Dolce..." She fumbled around, looking for her other pocket, before holding out a different cookie - this one being one of the many she would rush to the other Selphian residents due to her clumsiness and forgetfulness. "It would seem I forgot about today, so I must now make it up to everyone, yes? Here is for you, happy Valentine's Day!"

Xiao Pai was both confused and concerned. First, she had gotten chocolates from Lumie. Second, she had - much to her and her mother’s concern - forgotten all about Valentines’ Day. And third… Well, third, there was a basket of turnips on the doorstep of the Bell Hotel. "Well…" Xiao Pai read the card before looking around in confusion before shrugging and lifting the basket with a little trouble inside to her mother. Perhaps Lin Fa could make sense of it.

[Knock-knock. On the front porch, there was a basket of turnips and a Valentine’s Day card in the center. As for the person who left it there… they escaped without a trace.]

Lumi snuck quietly into the back room of the Inn, turning into Xiao Pai's room. She walked in and left a small red box with silver ribbon labeled, 'To Xiao Pai' on the desk. When opened the box would contained several flower shaped chocolates and a note which read: "I mess up a lot too! The best you can do is to never stop trying! Happy Valentines Day! -Lumi"

"Eh…?"

Xiao Pai stared at the foreign object on her desk with a critical look, trying to recall what it was and when she had put it there. When it became clear that it wasn’t originally hers, however, she paused, brow furrowed, before approaching it, tugging on the ribbon cautiously before flinging the cover off, expecting an explosion.

"…"

When it didn’t come, however, Xiao Pai peered in, spotting the chocolates and the note, which she picked up and read. After that, however, her eyes widened considerably.

"I AM FORGETTING THAT IT IS VALENTINES’ DAY!"

       Oh, well that was a rather lovely deal. A bath with extra luxuries for the price of just… a regular bath, really. Forte just nodded in response to it. Honestly, if Xiao wanted to do this, then who was she to decline the offer? Xiao helped own the Bell Hotel and Bath House, so if she wanted to do this then it was up to her. It should be relaxing in the end.

       "Um…" She paused, looking down in thought. What did she want? There were times when she came to the baths and found that Xiao had added something rather nice in the water that made it really relaxing, but she never did find out what those added touches were. Shame, she could have definitely gone for one of them right about now… She could ask Xiao, but in all honesty, they were from a while ago and she didn’t quite know how to accurately describe it, other than it felt really nice. Oh well. Good to go with the next best thing instead.

       ”Well, yes actually. Being surrounded by rose petals is such a relaxing and romantic fe-AH, I MEAN—” Forte inhaled a sharp breath before nodding and giving a nervous smile. "Yes, I-I’d like to have flower petals included, please." Crisis averted. Smooth, Forte. There was one more idea that was on her mind, and this one she definitely knew how to explain. With a hopeful look, Forte bit her lip. 

       ”…Actually, if I may ask of one more thing. Do you have anything that could… warm up the bath? Even if just a little bit?”

... Eh? Xiao Pai's head tilted to the side a little in confusion at Forte's abrupt word turnaround. So Forte is... thinking that rose petals are relaxing? Well, they ARE very popular, if I am remembering correctly... okay! Roses it will be! The girl's smile widened as her mind discarded the idea that Forte had also described the petals as 'romantic' as she said, "Okie dokie then! Special flower petals for Forte, coming up, yes?"

If I am remembering right, Mama keeps the flowers somewhere upstairs... Mumbling to herself, Xiao nearly missed Forte's next request. Almost. "Hm? Oh!" The platinum haired innkeeper's daughter clasped her hands together almost a little too eagerly. "Is Forte wanting a hotter bath with the flowers? I recall that Dylas and Doug once requested a hotter bath to themselves and that was okay, yes? Is that what Forte is wanting?"

"It can be arranged, yes!" Xiao Pai glanced behind her at the front door. No guests coming in, and the ones that were already in the inn were milling about in the lobby, talking to the shopkeepers and each other. Perfect. "It would seem Forte has the bath to herself! ... Which is something I just noticed now. Perfect, yes?"

"I will get everything ready for you then!" And with that, Xiao scurried off to gather the materials. "Take a seat or prepare

"Aliens, hm?" The girl cocked her head to the side, watching the young boy's antics with an amused grin, silver eyes glittering. "Oooh, scary, yes? But it would seem that I must now obey!" Attempting to express a look of blank submission, Xiao straightened up before bowing almost dramatically, an arm outstretched in the direction of the castle. "Fo-llow-me, great-one, yes?"
