you know what i want more of in fiction?

some kind dads. Gentle dads. Dads who are openly affectionate and loving to their kids, who are supportive and caring and even if they don’t fully understand stuff, will still try to and also try to do whatever they can to help.

Some good dads. Some smart dads who are not so bumbling or at least just that, but dads who can be smart and intelligent too. 

why do all fictional dads have to be such cold aloof assholes? Why can’t we have some good dads?

Defend a grown ass man attempting to kill a child’s pet. Look me in the eye and tell me that growing up in a neglectful home is justification for actively traumatizing students that have been put in your charge. 

Tell me that being bullied in school is a perfectly reasonable excuse for getting an impoverished and disabled man removed from the only viable career opportunity and income source he had.
