The Floyd Event Center and Driftwood Catering have teamed up to host the first farm-to-table dinner at #floyd_ecovillage on Sunday September 19th 2021. Guests can choose between the traditional farm table set-up outside on our large patio overlooking the pond, farms, and sheep or a private table inside that is socially distanced from other guests and temperature controlled. A walking tour will be offered before an exquisite 5-course meal. Additional announcements regarding menu, ticket prices, and time will be released in the next week. What can I possibly say about Susanna and Andrew except that they are an amazingly sweet couple that are full of life and happiness. We had an incredible wedding and reception today. We are excited to announce that we have added three new landscapers to our family here at the Floyd EcoVillage. They were born in February and are super sweet. If you are staying with us in the Lodge or cabins, visiting the event center or stopping by to grab something from the farm store, you should take a small walk to the field across the pond and say hello. It was such a pleasure to get to spend the day with Sydney and Eli and their amazingly kind and hospitable family. It was a tad cooler today than we had anticipated but the sky was clear and the weather was comfortable in the sun. The father of the groom stayed up all night smoking the meat and the food was amazing. I had the opportunity to work with some new vendors today which is always exciting. I have tagged them below. We had to lower the height of our pond a bit this year and took the opportunity to add something special. Here is the view from the new dock. We finally have a way for people to get closer to the water. Swimming is absolutely not allowed but this will allow beautiful photo opportunities for folks visiting. We have to give a huge shout out to the three companies who worked tirelessly and quickly to get our pond and surrounding areas done before the wedding tomorrow. OMNIBUILD General Contractors did an amazing job on the dock as well as the new curved bridge. They also built the new pen in the background (we will have details about that in the month to come). Yard Boys Total Landscaping mowed, trimmed, mulched the event Center and will be weeding all of the beautiful areas around our property this year. https://www.facebook.com/BeegleLandscapingAndLawnCare/ brought in the river rock to cover exposed bank, planted new water plants, brought in trees and shrubbery and mulched those areas right around the pond. We cannot wait to get pictures this year as everything starts to grow and fully shows it's beauty.
