But it’s Boomer and Blossom being more than friends and less than lovers, running around each other because they bring out the worst and best parts of themselves.

Let me elaborate and say I mean that I think it would be like Blossom finding herself being more carefree and a bit reckless around Boomer because she can do all the things she never thought of in front of him without judgement and Boomer, at first thinking she’s pretentious (prude/prissy/has a stick up her ass/goody-two-shoes whatever you prefer) and then later begrudgingly liking her presence. Honestly as I type it doesn’t feel like I’m explaining it as well as it is in my mind but I just feel like there’s a lot of potential for yearning and angst with Boomer possibly believing Blossom is out of her league and it annoying him that she seems so perfect (not in a dreamy fairytale way but more like “the mere thought of you repulses me/I wish you were dead/I wish I was you) because all his life his brothers made fun of him for being a “sissy” and being weaker/the weakest of them all. I feel like it would also play into him having anger issues and being the most aggressive brother so as to prove himself.

Then we have Blossom who is confined by the expectations of Townsville and having to be perfect so she can set an example role model (though honestly she knows there’s something ironic about that because her and her sisters literally punch villains which promotes violence all for the sake of keeping the town safe [wait is townsville a city or town? I lowkey forgot uhm..]), avoiding opening up to anyone including her sister so they don’t worry but lets be honest they already know somethings up but they trust her to tell them when she’s ready (because I believe they are close enough and would obviously be more mature as they get older so they know to respect boundaries) and Blossom just having to analyze her emotions by herself and understanding why she feels what way but it still sucks not saying it out loud but again who is she going to tell? If I really wanna go a little ooc, Blossom herself could maybe even feel a bit of envious of the freedom Boomer and his brothers have since they may always be able to reform but they’d never be held to the same standards since,

1. They’re boys.

2. Because they’ve shown how reckless and dangerous they can be who would ever try scolding them if not the Powerpuff’s.

I would also imagine the restraint that comes with trying to be perfect and that leading to small moments of random violent outbursts (not in front of anyone or to anyone) which brings her to Boomer and they take out all their anger, resentment and frustration out on each other and purposefully bumping into him just to annoy him and rattle him up.

Ugh I hope this makes sense and I hope it doesn’t sound like chatgpt because I came up with this on my own. I wanna write a actual fic or even one shots to start but I lowkey can’t work ao3 and Idk what my limits are for tumblr. 🙈

I have just thought of this but what do we think of Mojo Jojo x Bianca Bikini (from the 2016 reboot) (yes Ik maybe Barbara and him would make a bit more sense but I feel as though she’d be more like Bianca’s daughter)

Something fun I always like headcanon for the girls is that their blood would be like a very deep shade of their signature colors like for Blossom it’d a deep shade hot red/pink and Bubbles is deep blue + Buttercups being deep green. I just also really like the idea of different colors of blood or their blood being the color of chemical x with hues of their colors.

Ngl as much as I love angst like the next person, I love seeing ppl have the powerpuff girls be like really close (not that there isn’t) I see a lot of Blossom and Buttercup being at odds or one of the girls maybe feeling misunderstood or all of them. I think it is maybe more of a fanfic thing.

I like having both angst and fluff but I do ADORE seeing them just being chill or doing nothing with eachother. Especially as I mentioned Buttercup and Blossom, idk I see them as like two sides of the same coin and they both love and adore Bubbles and are protective.✨

BLOSSOOMER

Okay, I really need to articulate why they would work so well. Blossom; she's the smart one. Tough, she's not just smart, she enjoys punching baddies. She enjoys being cute and pretty. But she is also smart (and sometimes could be a smartass but that's neither here nor there). She would trade her life to keep her city safe, she makes plans. She thinks more than her sisters, but is not always in the right. She's strongwilled.

Boomer; he's the 'stupid' one, he the one that, well, has the second most personality besides Brick. He's easily distracted to things. He's a sporty guy. In my headcanon he's the "pretty boy", the one who can use his looks as an advantage. He also would be the type to show his feelings, I feel that he would be more vulnerable and prone to showing his emotions. He's weird, and he's like his brothers-- a crude and rude boy. But I feel like he's partially different.

Despite everything; their relationship would be something. Both of them have weak spots. Boomer is not afraid to show it; yet Blossom feels stagnent. She wouldn't want to have flaws herself, because she insists on being the perfect leader. Someone who her sisters could fall back on. But with Boomer; what is she?

To him, she's a know-it-all. A corrector. Someone who will try to erase his flaws. But he still likes her. He would likely develop a crush on her fairly quickly. He would go to lengths to do everything for her, and she just can't understand it.

To her, he's stupid. Clueless to his brothers 'bullying' towards him. But he's tolerable- he lights up every room he's in. He's more confident than his brothers, somehow. He's got a lovable face. He's a dork, a nerd, everything in every sense of the word. Yet, somehow, she really likes him.

She can faintly be herself with him, like everything disappears. She could be imperfect with him-- they could have fun together. He's surprised that Blossom ends up actually feeling the same way about him. He can't process it, and Blossom couldn't either for some time.

Yet despite all odds, they come together. Two halves of a whole. An idiot and the smart girl.

I lowkenuinely love Blossoomer in the sense of “Youngest dumb brother who’s got anger issues” and “Oldest sister who has to take responsibility for everything and is on the verge of crashing out” now do my descriptions make sense? Probably not. I could explain this in more detail but gist of it is they’re both somewhat mentally deranged and bond over doing lines and being “outcasted” from their siblings.

I love rambling on and on and saying so much and nothing at all.

Okay but seriously. Do you ever think about buttercup laying there after that beat down from all those adult male adversaries during that tooth fairy episode?

A little girl in shock, touching her mouth to feel all her teeth and jaw banged up. This little girl thinking about how she’s such a bad person and definitely deserved this. The walk back home, or flight I guess depending on her condition. Do you think her sisters helped her get home? Do you think those other little girls thought “this is what happens when I’m bad.”

And what else? Do you ever think about if the professor or anyone really ever asked if she was okay? Did anyone patch her up or clean her up after or did they go straight to the dentist?

When buttercup (who is five btw) looked up at her father, the professor, the only adult in the world who might care about her for comfort after being graphically hurt, do you think for even a moment he thought about pulling her close and telling her it was okay?

I’m gonna write self insert fics where I kidnap these kids and give them actual Unconditional love.

I love to think about buttercup and her sisters laughing about this funny story later, pulling out a picture from the incident and making everyone uncomfortable by showing a five year old with tears down her face showing a busted up mouth and jaw.
