Characters : Darth Vader and Leia
Summary : Vader believes himself to be a good father. He takes care of his little one's every need, and despite having a lot of responsibilities as the Emperor he does take time to bond with the twins. Sadly, his relationship with his daughter is a lot more complicated than with his son. She's always been more prone to tantrums and hitting than Luke ever was. But progress is being made and now, Vader is determined to get closer to his daughter even if she might reject him at first.

Taking care of the Protector
Characters : Poseidon + SeaFam
Summary : Amid a War against Atlantis, Poseidon sacrifices his own well-being to protect his family and domain. Despite his resilience and stubbornness, the prolonged conflict leaves him exhausted and severely wounded. He tries to hide it in fear of his enemies using his weakened state to come after those he loves the most, but someone finds out and tries to help until things don't go as planned. What started as a small injury unravels deep, with consequences for the family. ON HIATUS FOR NOW I got stuck so I'll rather focus on other things... I honestly never intended to make this a long chapter fic but it got that way.

Summary : He had always tried to be the best version of himself and not disappoint Poseidon. But now that he knew Percy was his favorite son, it felt like a slap in the face.
Triton knows he shouldn't feel this way. After all, Percy is only human and still young while he's a god and future heir of Poseidon. He should be above such feelings, it was unnatural for them. But he can't help but feel like he had to do better, to prove to his Father that he wasn’t replaceable.

Many believed Lord Vader to be a cold-hearted and ruthless man who concerned himself only with the Empire's strength; thus, it was a great surprise, and a pleasant one, to witness his blatant affection for the prince and princess. He invested vast sums of credits into artistic renditions of his children, which decorate the Imperial Palace and many other important buildings to this day, and so brought a resurgence of art to Coruscant in their honour.
He also took great pleasure in seeing the twins' mutual affection. It was proof of their unshakable bond, wrought deep in the so-called Force, an ancient religion that he himself took part in. It is worth noting that the Empire’s citizens were also overjoyed in seeing their lord's happiness, not least because their livelihoods depended on his good mood.
To this day, the shared love of the Imperial family remains a symbol of the Empire's unbreakable core.

Family portrait time! I had lots of fun working on this one, especially since Vader finally gets his moment to shine XD I put the twins in white so they'd contrast nicely with him, but rest assured they have plenty of dark clothes to match his aesthetic loll
I have a few questions regarding your imperial darkness au:
1st: When Vader dies, who becomes the new ruler? Do Luke and Leia rule jointly or does Luke get the throne as eldest child? (and besides age order, Is the empire a male preference monarchy? random side question lol) or does Leia inherit the crown as the child with the best political skills with Luke as her right hand?
2nd: I know you've written that Leia isn't one for romance, but does she ever get married to at least continue the Imperial bloodline? or does she leave the business of getting married/having children to Luke?
3rd: Are either of the twins interested in knowing their mother?
4th: ARE the twins more loyal to each other than to vader???? or is their closeness just a fact of the whole *we were born together and have crazy space powers that let us feel each other and read one anothers minds so we act as extentions of each other in a way that others might as what they think is TOO close for mere siblings even though we really are just regularly close*

1st) I like to think that Luke and Leia would rule jointly, kinda like a Chronicles of Narnia situation; Leia would deal more in politics while Luke handles the military aspects! Then again, it'd also make sense if Leia becomes empress while Luke is her right hand XD I just think it makes the most sense for Leia to be the one who rules, or at least manages the inner workings of the Empire while Luke is better suited for taking action out in space!
Also, regarding the Empire's succession, the Imperial family's mindset is that whoever in the fam is best qualified to run the place will get the throne, and everyone else will support in the areas that they're great at (hence why Leia's most likely to get the throne while Luke supports). The twins as Sith aren't concerned with who in their family gets what as long as the family's together and the Empire is running smoothly loll I hope that makes sense! ^^;;
2nd) I honestly haven't thought that far loll In my head, Vader and the twins just live on forever at their current ages, and it's just the three of them for all time XD But jokes aside, I imagine both of them would make political marriages, but Leia does it earlier than Luke because she really wants to ensure that the family line continues, and she's more in tune with which alliances can better serve the Empire; meanwhile Luke's off doing adventure stuff hahaa
3rd) They're both interested in knowing Padme!
4th) The idea with my art/story descriptions is that it's written from a historian's point of view which doesn't necessarily have all the answers XD Maybe the twins are more loyal to each other; maybe it's just how they act that makes others perceive it that way! Or maybe it's both XD I myself don't have all the answers yet because I'm developing things as I go along (ie get the paintings done), but I'm also enjoying having some gaps in the story!
I will say that the twins never betray Vader, though! In this villain AU, I want the trio to actually be a close-knit happy family, with the Empire being highly successful and lasting for a long time XD I just think that scenario is very fun to explore hahaa
Luke and Leia didn´t always were planned to be brother and sister
Originally Luke´s sister would be hidden on a similar planet Luke was, she was probably be very similar to Rey, after ROTJ a redeemed Darth Vader and Luke would travel to bring her home with them but Lucas decided to end the trilogy in ROTJ so Vader was redeemed and died to close up his story and Leia was turned into Luke´s sister but I believe this was hinted since ESB where they create a force bond to comunicate so Leia could rescue Luke.
Now as the story developed in canon, Yoda and Obi-Wan decided to turn Luke into a Jedi from birth, in fact in ROTS novel Tatooine was selected because Anakin´s family lived there but also because Obi-Wan expected Luke to survive it like Anakin did as part of his Jedi training, he just didn´t expect Owen to oppose Luke´s training.
Leia was bassically adopted by the Organas from the first day and ObI-Wan and Yoda accepted this, they just expected to train Luke and if he failed, was killed or was turned to the darkside, then they would contact Leia. In the old canon Padmé lived for a time with the Organas but she died when Leia was very young, this was later changed to the version of ROTS where Padmé dies at childbirth.
In ROTJ novel Luke feels sad and angry about this because he felt as if he and Leia were seen as weapons agaisn´t their father and the Empire not as children and wondered if their mother had agreed to this but Padmé died at childbirth before being able to decide anything.
I have not seen many fics tackling this but Luke´s sense of being used and his destiniy decided since he was a child was something that probably influenced his decision to bring his father back from the darkside instead of killing him. He wanted to show there were other ways to fight the darkside and most importantly, he also had a force bond with his father that allowed him to feel the conflict inside Vader.
Luke´s perspective was that Vader, Leia and him were seen as means towards an end, basically seeing them as useful weapons for their force potential but dehumanized by both the Jedi and Sith, in fact he tought it was quite well planned to have the Son kill the father so there were no other people like them around. This isn´t a cultural matter for Luke, is a matter of being dehumanized by people he tought cared about him as a person. In a way his rebellion agaisn´t the Emperor on the throne room was also a rebellion agaisnt the old Jedi Order way of seeing things. Luke tought the force must be something greater than that.
I think that in like at least one or 2 of your ficlets from your dragons au Vader falls asleep at some point probably unintentionally and I love that so much because he's just a tired dad doing his best to raise his lil menace twins and he just needs some quiet sometimes

maybe it’s just me but i genuinely do not feel anakin’s desire to save his wife’s life at any cost was possessive. desperate might be a better way to describe what he was feeling. and palpatine easily capitalized on anakin’s desperation because anakin felt he had no one else to turn to.
i see possessive used to describe anakin. and honestly probably by myself in the past. but in this moment, i don’t really feel that is an accurate description of his love for padmé. they were apart for several months at a time. and padmé did her own thing (yk senator stuff). in the movies anakin never did act possessive over her or try to control her in any way. tcw DOES NOT count and i am not referring to his actions as darth vader.
i do think anakin is the jealous type. not in a way that would cause him to have an outburst though. but that’s me. however, him being possessive was not really present. to me. idk i might change my opinion about this later lol.
Well, of course she is a Skywalker. She is literally descended from them. Her father is a Skywalker, her grandma is a Skywalker and all her paternal descendants are Skywalkers. I use a different last name from my actual family name for professional reasons. That does not mean i am not part of the family anymore. I understand some people like "found family" trope especially when they have bad relatives. But the whole "blood does not make you family, love does" is ignoring that family is not just about emotions. It is a more complex topic than that. My grandfather is family even if he died before i was even born. And it also ignores many of the story themes, George always spoke of Luke AND Leia as Anakin's last ray of sunshine and told Filoni that only Anakin's children could redeem him when they were discussing Ahsoka and Vader reunion. If the story is about how insignifiant blood ties are then why Ahsoka who shared a bond with Anakin can't bring him back yet the children he never knew can ?And if we are being technical considering the Organa dude falsified documents and had no claim to the child and the child has a living family with more claim, legally the adoption is null and void. And he did it when her mother's body was not even cold in it's grave. You could say "he did it for her protection, no one was supposed to know about her" but seriously ? Why not raise her as a ward without the princess bullshit. Would not that be safer ? Literally a rich senator taking in an orphan out of goodness after war is not that strange. Making her a public figure is a dangerous move, making her a senator is also an even more dumbass move considering who is the head of that senate. Obi Wan and Yoda should not have given her to him:a public figure, a Senator working under Palps and is planning a rebellion against him which the space wisard would know about, and with a lot of enemies, hell in Disney canon Palpatine told Vader to go teach Organa a lesson and the only thing that saved him is Vader refusing to do so, and the Kenobi show proved him to be incompetent, you can not even protect the 10 years old from kidnappers who can't outrun her ? The OT starts with him failling at keeping Leia out of trouble. You could twist it no matter how you want but the truth is: George did not think that far ahead about Organa. He is a pilot device at best.
He didn't even need to take her in. He could have just given her to the Naberries, her biological maternal family, who would protected and hid her much better than he could have. Taking her to Alderaan and closely associating her with himself and his family would have by itself dragged her into the public eye and into danger. He only did so because (in-universe) he was jumping at the opportunity to adopt a baby girl and (out-of-universe) George Lucas had already introduced Leia as an Organa in ANH before he established her as a biological Skywalker in ROTJ, so he couldn't avoid putting her with the Organas in ROTS. That's what you get when you keep telling a story backwards and retconning stuff as you go along.

but he ALSO waited for weeks to try and save shmi, he waits for YEARS to leave the jedi order to be with padmé not secretly, he waits YEARS to reunite with padmé, he would have waited for her (in the sense of quietly pining whilst saying nothing and remaining her friend, and never ever THINKING of another person romantically. imo) if she had not confessed in geonosis...
idk I just don't see it (I think it is a TCW thing. sighs in general dislike of anakin's TCW characterisation).
Empress Amidala, in an AU where everything goes to shit and Padmé somehow ends up as as the all evil Empress of the galaxy, ruling with Darth Vader by her side
