Hello!

This is my side blog for posting my art. (separated from my main blog to keep it organized from my reblogs. lol) Most of the stuff I post on here is fandom stuff or OC related art. Just anything I've drawn that I want to show off. ^^

I also make Shimejis, desktop pets, and post their animated actions on here from time to time. Along with their download links so that others may also use them once they're finished.

New behaviors for the Fire Spirit Cookie Shimeji!

These actions will randomly happen as he's hanging out on your desktop.

The "Yawn" behavior, which has two different yawn options depending on if he's standing or if he's sitting. Variables in the code detect this to choose between the options.

I've also finished all of the "upset" frames for when his mood stats get low. Code needs work to show it off in the program, but they are the default movement behaviors with an upset face as seen below.

Got the clone animation set up for Fire Spirit Cookie now. Now the shimeji has a 50/50 chance to clone or give a soul stone from the oven. (Variables not placed in the code yet. So... at this moment soul stone doesn't give an actual "soul stone" point.)

Not sure if I'm going to adjust the frequency or not, but we'll see.

The Fire Spirit Shimeji is finally getting some progress. It hasn't been forgotten, the project just been put on hold for a bit when I was doing some simpler shimejis. ^^'

So yeah, the Clone action has some work done today. It will have two versions, one with a soul stone and the other with an actual Fire Spirit Cookie coming out.

This is still a w.i.p, Fire Spirit will also be there on the side watching it open up. I just don't have his idle drawing looking away from the view yet.

Trying my best to stay focused on one shimeji project at a time. Fire Spirit Cookie has been long in the making and I would like to get him done soon. He still has a lot of actions to work on, but his main core actions for the default code is nearly done, just this, the clone, and the throwing windows action. Then after that is going to be all the extra stuff.

(Edit: not sure why the animation isn't showing up for me, but I added in a still frame so hopefully that one shows.)

Artfight coming soon... So hitlist for Shimejis!

The yearly event Artfight is coming up soon! Something I have taken part of for many years now. It's early, since it starts in July, but... I thought I would get my Hitlist up and ready for the event in advanced!

Last year I made a hitlist for Shimejis to see who would like a desktop pet of their OCs, and it went pretty well. I was able to get quite a few done during the event. ^^

Here's two examples I got done during the event. Only Hunter is free on Cachomon's website.

So I'm making another hitlist where you can fill it out if you are taking part in Artfight this year. While it's not guaranteed you'll get one it will give you a chance to be picked.

Please note that... If you enter into this it's assumed you can use shimeji and also all shimeji made during this event, unlike last time I did this, will be public to download.

Besides my bigger projects of Shimejis, I'll also likely be doing smaller things like clean sketches and maybe some chibis here and there.

Updates to all older Shimeji

Yesterday I made some updates to older shimeji that added in splash screens that pop up the first time you launch them. They give you info on hotspots and other custom code things to know about.

Other updates were mainly code related, fixing up some errors with the when you drag the shimeji around.

The biggest update was for Eternal Emilitia, adding in variables to her read action that made it when you click the hotspot to see the topic of her book, the topic she tells you it's about won't change until she starts the action again.

All these shimejis can be found on Cachomon's website. Searching my name in the search bar will give you all the shimejis I made that are currently on the site.

It might be a bit for older links on Tumblr and other art sites I'm on to be updated. As Some of them are links to my google drive, but I'll try and get those all up to date soon as well. ^^

Shimeji W.I.P

Biscuit Monkey from Cookie Run is coming along, he's very close to being finished and ready to be downloaded! ^^ Just needs a few touch ups on the other actions and he'll be done.

I also have many other projects I'm working on in between working on my big Fire Spirit Cookie Shimeji project. I'm planning on going back and working on some Hollow Knight projects and also Dandy's World since I got into that game recently. Lots of fun stuff to show off once I have more to share. ^^

Updates

Working on some smaller shimejis in between my bigger projects. Slushi from Chikn Nuggit is very close to being done as there is only one more action to finish up. So likely to be posted this week, if not today.

Also working on Biscuit Monkey from Cookie Run.

He's pretty close to being finished as well as nearly all his actions are sketched and cleaned up, but still a bit more work to be done than Slushi. ^^

Some Updates

Been jumping around on a lot of shimeji projects lately, honestly do that a lot in general with my projects. Some new things I've done lately is I'm working on a shimeji for Slushi from the Chikn Nuggit web series.

She's nearly done, with only a few actions left to clean up. Also something I think I'll start doing is making previews with the work in progress parts in them if they're clean enough to show. Would be nice to be able to show more work in progress stuff. ^^

The other shimeji that got some work is Fire Spirit Cookie from Cookie run.

The preview doesn't have all the animations that I have finished just yet, these are just the ones that are fully done. It's a nice visual of how much is left to do for him. But now his main movement options are done so he at lest functions as a basic shimeji, just all the extra features need work.

I've decided that I'm not going to do asymmetry for my Cookie Run Shimejis. Or maybe just in general unless the asymmetry is really important, I haven't decided on that fully.

I personally don't like doing asymmetry for shimejis. It just doubles the work time on the shimeji since you have to make a second frame for every frame you make. Put in prospective, 46 frames is the default shimeji, if you were doing asymmetry for that it's 92 frames. And my shimejis are not default amount of frames... x.x'

Mainly making this choice for Cookie Run characters since... well they all have asymmetry if you take into account they hold a weapon/item. >.>

So yeah, unless I some reason change my mind they just won't have asymmetry.

I assume you are talking about Shimejis.

Well making one isn't to hard if you are doing the basic default Shimeji. You can download the program from Kilkakon.com link here, https://kilkakon.com/shimeji/

From there you would enter the img folder and into the shimeji folder and replace the pngs with your own art. Size should be 128 by 128 pixels for your pngs, they can be bigger if you edit the xml image anchors but for starting out doing the default size is best.

But yeah, that's the basics to it. Do note that Shimeji only works on Windows and needs Java 8 to work. (I assume you already have that, but good to mention anyway.) If you have a question about it that is more specific tutorial on something Shimeji related feel free to ask and I'll try and answer the best I can. ^^

Made some more shimeji chooser icons.

I am considering making the other biscuit animals from the dessert paradise stage in Cookie Run Ovenbreak. But not for sure just yet, still wanted to doodle them little icons just for fun even if I don't end up making shimejis for them.

Now Fire Spirit Cookie I've already started, and have posted w.i.ps about before, he's just got a ways to go. Hope to get some work on him tomorrow, but we'll see.

And Wind Archer Cookie is one I want to do at some point, he's not started at all.

Biscuit Bunny Shimeji Fix

So I was looking more stuff up about the biscuit creatures in Cookie Run and saw this sprite on the wiki.

So, I'm fixing my sit sprites for my shimeji to look more like that.

So yeah, now the sit frames look better and closer to what they do in game. ^^ I'll be editing the animated preview with these soon.

Kikitchi Shimeji

Kikitchi from Tamagotchi, now as a desktop buddy!
