So I just found out TM Opera O and Haru Urara were running the same years and I just keep thinking about it because you imagine she'd be jealous.
The irl horse was champion racer who was undefeated for years, still to this day has earned more money than any other JRA racehorse (including Almond Eye when adjusted for inflation) and yet she never received love or praise from the fans. They threw rocks, cut his hair and he never even received one fan letter. This cruelty didn't even stop when he retired. So upon his death and reincarnation in the Uma world, she became arrogant and attention seeking, desiring the praise she never found in life
And then there was Haru Urara. Born the same year but much less successful. A career with 113 losses. And yet she just kept going and due to that, people paid attention. They bet on her knowing that she would lose because it would be a good luck charm. She was so loved the announcers even began to take her side. There were plushies and merchandise and people tuning in to see the champion of losers everywhere. And when she reincarnated in the Uma world it was the same way. A sweetheart who people made special exceptions for because they loved her so much.
Now, in anything else, TM Opera O would be jealous. The rival who sabotages Haru Urara, for taking the attention that should have been rightfully hers. A tragic and sympathetic villain. And yet... She's not. She supports Haru Urara and encourages her to keep improving. No hatred. No jealousy. No resentment. She just wants to help her improve and assure her that she's doing a good job. And to me that level of kindness and empathy is incredible.
