Trump’s newest money-making venture is literal insider trading: you can pay for early access to his market-moving social media pronouncements so you can take advantage of them before us non-payers even know it’s happening:
“President Donald Trump’s media company is planning to charge for special high-speed access to Truth Social posts, including possibly his own, affecting national security and financial markets.”
The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board has mocked Trump’s election fraud claims using the report *he* declassified:
"Since Mr. Trump declassified the memo, we can quote the part he didn’t. “Vote tabulation systems would be difficult to manipulate on a wide enough scale to compromise election results,” it says. “The systems in each voting location are not connected to the Internet or to each other, and many methods for exploiting them rely on physical proximity.” Achieving it across many jurisdictions “would be difficult” and “audits and paper trails very likely would uncover such an effort."
The Republican candidate for Governor in Colorado:
—said that killed a man when he was 7. He thinks he’s killed more people since but he’s not sure how many.
—has been arrested at least twice for disorderly conduct.
—has described terrorizing a psychiatrist with talk of murdering him.
—says he can perform exorcisms by phone.
Standard stuff.
So now that the reflecting pool is drained (again), where’s the 350 foot gash that dude put in the lining? Asking for America …
As with all grifters, the truth is never hard to find: just follow the money.
Oh, and *half* the money is our tax dollars. Just taken.
You would think that even Donald Trump couldn’t screw up America’s 250th birthday party.
But you would be wrong.
For years, conservatives railed against the power of government to limit citizens’ freedoms. One once referred to federal officers as “jack-booted thugs.”
Today, federal agents are arresting people for putting their hands in the water of the reflecting pool.
And conservatives? Conservatives cheer. Almost like they were never really serious about freedom at all.
In the end, the “vandals destroyed the reflecting pool” lie is as deliberately absurd as the “a Nigerian prince wants to send you money lie”: the point is to instantly winnow the audience to only the extremely gullible, all while ensuring the liar has the trust and faith of those who accept and/or promote the lie. Reason can’t overcome the lie because accepting the lie is an act of faith and obedience.
Which fuels the cycle forever and ever and ever.
I know it shouldn't bother me, but the fact that Donald Trump would rather make up a lie that some random person vandalized the reflecting pool in some extreme way in full public view with lots of security around, and that his minions just repeat the lie ad nauseum, is just really, really depressing.
A modest proposal for fixing the reflecting pool:
1. Publish a request for proposals explaining the goals and expected timeline of the project.
2. Accept bids on the project.
3. Use the existing panel that evaluates such projects to choose the bid that seems most likely to achieve the goals within a reasonable budget and time scale.
4. Do the project.
Crazy, I know. But maybe we should try something other than "pick some dude who gave money to Trump."

The Trumpizoidal supergeniuses decided to eliminate Mormons as a recognized religious group in the military.
Because it’s not like the Mormon church is rich, powerful, and *very* Republican or anything. So what could possibly go wrong?
Although, the answer might well be: nothing. After all, one of Trump’s actual powers is to constantly screw people over and retain their support anyway.
