If there was one thing that Lee Hoseok was terrible at, it would be skiing, at least, trying to skii whilst also trying to advertise and help construe business plans for the small company he was working for. ( It was them who had promised a vacation, but covered head to toe in fancy black and orange brand labels should have been expected in the very least, especially when it was a vacation with the head of the company. ) A better vacation would have been well appreciated however. Something along the lines of sitting on his couch; possibly working on his lunch, preferably one with a pretty neck and a killer sweet tooth. All was to be done while he watched spanish soaps until he couldn’t stand it anymore. It was safe to say that he was grateful in the least. The views were beautiful here, and while he had rarely found himself gazing at the open sky, the last two afternoons were spent staring out at the rustling pine and quivering naked oak behind their shared company cabin. But there he was instead, middle of a shitstorm, trudging uphill after losing one of his skiis embarrisingly enough on the novice pike. He’d of considered leaving it, –the tumble down was not pretty, and his thick goggles were covered with snow. His ears should be pinched a shade of red but instead they were just cold, having lost his hat somewhere in the fall. But, coming back with one skii and a lopsided smile wouldn’t have been in his best interest–at least if he wanted to keep on track towards his end of the year bonus. What an absolutely, terrifying vampire, Lee Hoseok turned out to be.
Hoseok brushes the snow from his goggles without much luck, not with his gloves still caked with ice anyway. It was times like this that he had wished that he had listened to his gut, but it couldn’t of been helped. It wasn’t as if he knew how to sprout wings and somehow make this feat any less difficult or any more faster either. ( At least not with the heavy boots that kept him weighed down in the snow, now several inches above his knee with the sheer amount of flurries that fell. ) It was as he held his solo skii in his arms, its empty boot knocking against his ribcage as he bent forward to keep moving, that another man shouldered him, nearly knocking himself off balance. It wasn’t being run into that had surprised Hoseok ( It probably felt like the equivalent of running right into a wall for the human though, which barely shifted him anyway ) but what had suprised Hoseok, was that the other man had been yelling, and then was screaming for everyone to get to safety from the storm. Had he tuned him out all the time? Or did he wait for him to get closer before he started yelling and now that Hoseok held his arm out to help them both up, felt an overwhelming need to try and turn him the and another victim in the opposite direction once he had stabled. Hoseok follows willingly when a particularly hard gust of wind whips his hair back, and he could feel the chill of it settle right up against his bones despite the thick heavy coat he had been wearing. Tugging his hand back to pull up his coat against his chest he offers a smile, his nose wrinkling as he hunches his shoulders in, feigning much colder than he actually felt.
“Is this a storm?” he asked, not expecting much of an answer, but even though Hoseok wasn’t native there, and while he was only a few steps ahead of the two, he knew in the least that it wasn’t incredibly long until the cabin would turn up. The problem with this one is that it was near a patch of ice and laid in a small crevice, cozy and warm, but most definately not the best choice if they were going to end up camped out for some time. If this was going to be a storm, they’d have better luck going 30 minutes out of the way in the other direction to the company cabin instead. But with how red and enthusiastic the human was, he couldn’t tell him it was probably a bad idea. Instead he shakes the snow from his hair and moves forward, acknowledging the other man with a dip of his chin at first, and then a small perplexed look when he realizes that he too, was completely fine with the cold with the way a smile seemed to stretch over his face.
Reaching the cabin seemed to end with them all piling through the door, their murky wet boots leaving streaks on the wooden western style floor and causing them to slip as he and the human thrust the door shut, leaving the wind and snow to continue on behind it.
“Johnny, If ya didn’t catch that before. I live around these parts, it’s safe to say we’ll be here for a while. Anyone else starving after that? ‘cuz I could eat a horse,” Without the howling of the wind in his ears, Hoseok realized that Johnny actually had a soft voice, and as the redness in his face had faded, the kindness erupted through much easier. As Johnny rifled through the cabinets to make sure they weren’t royally fucked, slipping around in his wet socks like it was something his did in his free time, Hoseok starts to strip himself of his heavy, label covered gear. The band to his goggles had popped entirely, he wasn’t sure how exactly they stayed on, but it was another thing that he’d have to chalk up to weather, and not entirely with cheap outsourced materials. As he shimmied out of his jumpsuit he watched the other man that favored himself with a deep set red-head. “You know how to cook beans? I have a feeling that, that’s all Johnny’s going to find over there,” holding back a small laugh he turns to the side to roll down the jumpsuit, pulling his much thinner turtle neck down when it rides up his abdomen and stepping out of it. Yanking up the third inner most layer of his pants and then the tighter warming thermals, does he finally stetch out his arms and legs after being bundled up for so long. “Ugh, best ten seconds of my life,” he sighs, reaching out for a light switch and flicking it on, the dimmer orange light settling with a small buzz and flicker.
It was a struggle to get up, with the wind beating against his back like an angry mistress, and snow sliding places he could have sworn his clothing was there to protect. It's no wonder humans rarely lasted in storms like these. The way it surrounded you, blinded you. Suffocated. Stealing away air and warmth and life alike in a vicious dance. Minhyuk shook his hands-free of the snow clotting around his fingers and reached for the human, helping him stand. Brushing what he could from the male's body in vain as the heavy snow pouring from the sky replaced it in mere moments, again he shouted something lost to the wind.
Briefly, Minhyuk wondered if he'd die in this storm if they'd make it or freeze solid for happy vacationers to find in a year or two... his value low with full thanks to his lack of consequence when it came to death. Next time he'd need to keep a journal and pen on him. Maybe he would have been able to write 'avoid snowy mountains' or something before dying, then again he shouldn't jump the gun as an extended arm helped him find his footing enough to assist in pushing the human forward. Out of place grass stained glass hues peeking to your face now that he was closer. Bright almond shaped eyes pinched from the wind but a vibrant ocean peeking out behind dark lashes. Strands of blonde shifting to the demands of every gust and yet you lacked a shiver... Pale skin. He could tell now that you were a supernatural as well, but thanks to the storm his senses were suffering.
He could feel a grip tighten around his arm and pull him forward and Minhyuk took that as the stop waiting to die tug and get your ass moving. A faint smile curling onto his lips and he followed closely behind. Ready to brace either male should the airs lash out once more.
Reaching that cabin felt like a messy triumph as all three males pushed through the door. Minhyuk having to brace himself just to shove it back closed and latch it to keep the weather out and what ever little bit of heat there was in. Sighing heavily once he no longer needed to shove strength into the heavy wood in fear of accidentally breaking it. His next action to find the nearest fireplace and something to burn to get a steady source of heat going as the heavy thuds of snow boots sounded with the human who he now knew to be Johnny, rushed off to the kitchen. Again, emerald hues shifted to you as he tossed a log into the pit. Not particularly shy about setting it on fire with his hands while the curious eyes of a human were absent.
"Beans huh... well here's to me wishing there's at least spam hidden away somewhere." he'd flash a smile. Shifting forward then back to a stand. Watching as article after article was shed and your figure slowly began to peek through... Maybe he shouldn't stare. Leafy hues darting towards the kitchen area before following after your example and pulling off that heavy coat. "I don't know if we're lucky to be stuck with him or not... So... forgive me for getting right to the point but, you aren't human, are you? And don't worry about Johnny. I came down the hill with him, he's deaf in the right ear. Unless he's in the room we don't have to worry about him hearing."
"Guys! There's beans!! I'ma look for a pot!" Speak of the devil. Again those lips spread to a flash a dazzling smile in your direction as a raspy chuckle fell from his throat and those deep wine red locks shifted with the shake of his head to free them from the snow he was sure sat just along the tips of his bangs. "Thank god, I was already considering eating one of you guys... Looks like you bought yourself another day Johnny." he'd shout back with a playful laugh and sigh happily with the new freedom from his snow clothes. "I'm Minhyuk. Probably could have met under better circumstances but hey. I'll take what I can get. Whats your name?"
