Ok but as a long time Maximum Ride fan it’s actually like so annoying that jimmy p named his cat Max, especially as someone who follows him on socials coz like at least once a week I’ll get a notification that he’s posted something with the word ‘Max’ in it and I’ll quite often quickly scan the notification and see ‘Max’ and then worry that’s he’s releasing some horrible new content to continue destroying the poor characters, only to realise it’s just something about his freaking cat lmao

Day of Anti-Hardwicke/Anti-Hardwicke Day.

It was a fan protest thing way back in 2009 when a Max Ride movie was announced for the first time. Twilight was at its peak and the movie had been recently released. The Maximum Ride movie was announced and the Twilight director, Cathrine Hardwicke was going to direct it. Allegedly, she was even looking at casting Kirsten Stewart and Robert Pattinson as Max and Fang, (tho that was never actually confirmed afaik) and everyone was PISSED. So the fans organised a protest day and wrote fan fics and made fan art about what a terrible idea it was. There was discussion groups for it on Max-Dan-Wiz. There was even a petition to have Hardwicke removed as director.

It was just before I joined the fandom, but I still remember everyone at the time talking about it a lot. A lot of the fics created for it still exist on ffn today.

I posted a while back about how dumb I think the whole concept of Total the Talking Dog is, and how I always felt it kinda unnecessary and just… silly, but I just learned that in the original Oz books by L. Frank Baum, it was eventually revealed that Toto could actually talk like the other Animals in Oz but that he’d just chosen to stay silent up until then.

And we know that Total is named after/a reference to Toto, so that has me wondering if Jimmy p did that on purpose? Like do we think that he actually read all those books and knew that Toto could talk, or is it just a coincidence? Like it would be cool if it was intentional ig, but I also think there’s fucking no way he’d put that much thought into writing a Maximum Ride book

So if you follow my main, you’ve probs noticed this already (because I’ve been reblogging CaitVi stuff non-stop lmao), but I’ve recently gotten into Arcane and I just had a realisation.

Vi is what happens to Max if the rest of the Flock is dead

So now I’m lowkey thinking about a Maximum Ride/Arcane au. Not all of the characters fit, some work better than others, but it’s an au so I can change enough to make it work ig

Angel as Jinx/Power, coz she’s the little sister Max would have done anything to protect. And I can absolutely see Angel turning out the way Jinx did if she went through the same things

Fang as Caitlyn, not a perfect fit, but I’m still kinda the same Fax trash that I was when I was 12, so whatever. Tho I’d gender swap Fang so I can keep it a wlw story

The rest I’m not 100% set on, I might switch them around a little

Iggy, Nudge and Gazzy as Mylo and Claggor, since the rest of the Flock needs to die for it to work

Dr Martinez as Vander? I know Jeb raised them more than her, but I was thinking of putting Jeb as Silco instead.

Maybe Ari (the good/redeemed version of him that lives in my head canon, at least) as Ekko? Since he’s not a part of the actual Flock but was still around when they were kids?

Still need to figure out a place for Jayce and Viktor. Maybe Ella for one of them? Idk I need to think about it some more.

working on the next chapter of the rewrite, but its third person from Fang's pov, which is a little hard coz its different to what I usually write. I've pretty much always preferred first person, even back when I first started getting into creative writing when I was like, seven. But I want to try something different, so let's see how this turns out.
