Getting rare cats to visit is Neko Atsume's "end game" and it's kind of a pain.

Rare cats are the cats that is special; they all have specific items preferred. Rare cats are more difficult to get to visit than the normal cats; they also much attractive and more interesting than your average cats.

New year’s new hair x My hair story

I have been dying my hair since I was 14. My natural hair color is black brown. Before I dyed my hair for the first time it was healthy and long down my back. It was my brother who gave me the idea that ‘dying your hair makes you feel awesome’. He dyed his hair to pastel pink back then; it was so cool that I wanted to do the same to my hair. Without my mom’s permission, I told my brother that he could dye my hair too and it’s okay with mom. He bleached my hair then dyed it to pastel pink like what he had. On the same day, my mom saw my hair; she got really mad to my brother and punished him for doing the same thing to my hair. Though my first hair color was a huge success for me and yes, I got the awesome feeling of having a really great hair day. But my mom doesn’t like it and I remember she told me “mukha kang mandaragat! Maninisig ng tahong!”. The next morning, my mom forces me to dye my hair back to black, even though I refused, she still dyed my hair. I ended up having a black-black hair like a black witch wig! I hated her for doing that thing.

Now I am 19, yey! I could dye my hair any color that I want, with or without my mom’s permission. Before 2015 end, I decided to dye my hair in to any vibrant color so I went to hair salon and ask them to bleach my hair, it costs me 500PHP! The hair stylist told me that if I’m planning to apply any other color into my hair wait for three days so that my hair won’t look like a wig, of course I did what he told me to do, I don’t want to have my witch wig hair back. After three days, I decided that I’m having a violet hair, so I bought three packs of hair dye and it costs me 75x3PHP.

TADAAAAAAAAAAAH! Though its not violet violet like what I really want but still loving my hair color. Yeap, its not that bad isn’t?

I never imagine myself committing or joining in a youth ministry, honestly, my mindset back then was “ang korni, di ko mae-enjoy ang kabataan ko, too old for that, dagdag sawayin”. Though joining them wasn’t my plan, but it’s HIS plan, it was GOD’s plan. God uses Claire (my spiritual discipler) as His instrument for me to be involved in His ministry, and surprisingly, being one of them, aiming the same thing (to be Christ-like) like them was the happiest ‘unexpected’ thing happened in my life. I found not just friends but siblings, a family; a family that taking care of me, feeding me, hehe and bringing me closer to God! I praise GOD for transforming me, my mind, my heart and saving my soul; my life! To GOD be all the glory and praises!

WONDER by R.J. Palacio

I never thought I would be posting ‘book review’ in my blog because I’m not a book fan. I only read book(s) if a.) It is required b.) My friend(s) told me to c.) It caught my attention; well, in this case, Wonder really caught my attention, maybe because of its book cover, or maybe because of 365 days of Wonder {Mr. Browne’s Book of Precepts}; where I get quotations to captions on my IG posts, or... Whatever triggers my attention to read it, is still a big question to me, too.

Moving on, what I like in R. J. Palacio’s Wonder is she wrote August "Auggie" Pullman’s story through six different points of view. For a ‘not so book reader’ like me the story is so easy to follow and honestly, I want to give Auggie a hug for being such a brave kid. It took me a day to finish the book, and I’m happy that I read it.

Synopsis: It center around August "Auggie" Pullman, a 11-year-old who has rare medical facial deformity. Due to numerous surgeries, Auggie had been home-schooled by his mother, but his parents decide to enroll him in Beecher Prep, a private school, for the start of middle school in the fall. His 1st year in a real school made the story flow.

Overall: It was a fun experience to read a children's novel. It made me literally wonder what Auggie looks like when he said “I won't describe what I look like. Whatever you're thinking, it's probably worse.” He is described as having "a mushed-up face" at birth. He eats "like a tortoise" because of surgery to repair a cleft palate that has left a hole in the roof of his mouth. His eyes come down too far, he has cheeks "that looked punched in". What he hates most is his ears, which are "like tiny closed fists". It gave me a chill when Auggie asks: "Why do I have to be so ugly, Mommy?" I never thought reading a book like this made grown up weep. I love how Auggie felt in the ending part of the story. HOOORRAAAYY! I can’t wait to read more about August Pullman! Btw, R.J. Palacio has sequels for Wonder, and a special chapter for Julian. Go, google it! ;-)

Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki (Wolf Children: Ame and Yuki)

Synopsis: College student Hana falls in love with a werewolf and has two half-werewolf children with him: a daughter, Yuki, and a year later a son, Ame. Soon after Ame's birth, their father is killed while hunting food for the children.

Dramatic huh? Go watch it, you’ll love the story flow. :-)

Rate: 5/5 Star - ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮

Overall: A ‘plain’ drama that would touch your heart. Ame’s decision at the ending part made me realized the quotation “When you let go of what you are, you became what you might be.”. Other than that, Hana proves that a mother’s love is unconditional love. I highly recommend this movie! Go watch it.

Synopsis: Hotarubi no Mori e’s story centers around Hotaru l who gets lost in an enchanted forest where apparitions reside when she was 6 years old, where she met Gin, a guy who cannot be touch because he’ll disappear.

Rate: 5/5 Star - ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮

Overall: A short anime movie but yes, even a man would cry his heart out after watching it. I guess? Oh yesss!! I highly recommend this!! *TWO THUMBS UP*

Pinoy Pride seems to be the belief that Filipinos are a special people from the rest of the world, and thus deserve special respect.

GIFT x Love

We have this tradition in our block that we always have a yearend celebration.This year was the simplest one; no games, no videoke and the saddest thing for all of us was...We don’t have lots of foods this time... But still we all had a good night spent with laughter, random stories and reminiscing moments in our 3 year in college together, and for me, those moments are priceless (literally... Walang bayad, joke).

We also have this tradition what I called ‘the not so lucky exchange gift; ‘for me’’, why? Because on our first year, I got an ‘invisible gift’ from one of my classmate, why invisible? Kasi hanggang ngayon wala pa din!! HAHAHA! On our second year we have this so called ‘wish list’ thing, this time I got more excited, hoping that this time I’m going to get what I really want because of this ‘wish list’ thing, so I wrote my expected gift(s): 1.) Make-up brush 2.) Make up pallet. 3.) Clothes for my dog (medium to large size)... On the day I got my gift, I’m so excited 3,000x. Slowy unwrapping my gift... And surprisingly I got a shirt, a shirt, a shirt with a dog. “Wow, ganda, sakto, kasya sakin ‘to, ganda, damit na may aso! He, he, he”

Well this year, I promised to myself that I’m not going to expect, my excitement lessen, and guest what... The happiest thing that I really want to share is FINALLYY!!! After 3 years of waiting, I received a ‘decent’ gift! Yes, a decent one. Thanks to Briant Red, I love you girl! xx

The Little Prince 2015

The Little Prince is first published in 1943 as a novella (book) written by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. The Little Prince (2015) is the 4th adaptation. Its first film (live action) adaptation was in 1974 by Stanley Donen followed in 1978 for its first animated film entitled ‘The Adventure of the Little Prince’.

Synopsis: A little girl lives in a very grown-up world with her mother, who tries to make sure she is prepared for it. Her neighbor The Aviator, introduces the girl to an extraordinary world where anything is possible, the world of The Little Prince.

Rate: 5/5 Star - ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮

Overall: I haven’t watch any other adaptation of The Little Prince before. Well it seem like a ‘bias’ for other versions but ugh, I love how the story goes by, how Osborne managed to insert new story in a good story. I love the animation, music, script, I love it! This is a very attractive film that represents a fearless attempt to do justice to Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s master piece; Mark Osborne manages it, just. A wonderful, fresh and endearing adaptation! *THUMBS UP*

I just got into anime lately simply because I was bored and I wanted to watch something that I haven’t try yet then I decided to watch random videos and I ended up watching anime. Yeap! I had a lot of time to waste during our semester break and I already watched a lot of anime created by Studio Ghibili. So here are my favorite Studio Ghibili anime.

I know right, this are Studio Ghibili’s best & already known anime (based on Google) but hey! Can you blame me for liking it too? ;-)

#5 GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES

Ranking can often be ‘unfair’, but for me, it’s depending on how the viewers react on a movie or sometimes, on how the movie affects the viewers. But from the moment I started to create this list, I already know what would be at the bottom. Grave of the Fireflies is a dramatic movie about Seita and his younger sister Setsuko. After their mother died during World War II. The siblings rely completely on each other and struggle against all odds to stay together and stay alive.

#4 ONLY YESTERDAY

Only yesterday story is about a 27 years old, unmarried woman named Taeko. This anime is an ‘ultimate throwback’ on Taeko’s 5th grade year memories. Awesome switching between her adult present and school girl flashbacks, awesome continuity, awesome cinematography, awesome screenplay.

#3 MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO

My Neighbor Totoro is about Kusabe Family who just moved into an old house to be closer to the hospital where their mother Yasuko is recovering from a long-term illness. This anime reminds me of my childhood were I already watched this anime many times but still makes me want to repeat it over and over again. Totoro is the cutest imaginary friend! How I wish I met Totoro when I was the same ages as Mei or Satsuki. ;- )

#2 SPIRITED AWAY

It could be a tie! But I think rank 2 isn’t that bad. Spirited Away is a story about a 10 year-old Chichiro. Her parents got stumble upon a seemingly abandoned amusement park. I like how the story develop and how Chichiro escape from the bathhouse and saved her parents.

#1 HOWL’S MOVING CASTLE

Howl’s Moving Castle is a love story of Howl a powerful wizard and Sophie an eighteen year old hatter. Why is it on top? Well, I fell in love with Howl. That’s all. LOL! Best effects, best characters, best story. THE BEST Studio Ghibili movie that I watched so far. I can’t say anything else, go watch it and decide for yourself.

Horaay to Studio Ghibli! For have been behind some of the greatest masterpiece that animated film have ever seen. It doesn't matter which movie you pick, all of it are extremely amazing!

Love me if you dare. (Review)

Jeux d’enfants (translated “Love me if you dare”) is a 2003 French romantic debut film of Yann Samuel, with casts of now current married couple Marion Cotillard ( Inception, Midnight in Paris, The Dark knight rises) and Guillaume Canet (Joyeux Noel).

The film explores those little awkwardness, complexities, confusion we encounter when we get that feeling. It also shows, with wit, the drive fueled by love, how a person can achieve something bold… something stupid all in the name of love.

Exposition: The film opens with the voice of little Julien narrating about the small tin box and her mother contracting “metastasis”. Besides her ailing mother, Julien is just pretty much with himself, until the moment she met her --- Sophie. Tears were still flowing from Sophie’s eye when Julien first approached her to cheer her up by giving her his tin box. Sophie then dares Julien before returning the box to him. This started their friendship of games and crazy dares.

Rising Action: With both of them growing up, feelings with each other grew up too, especially with Sophie. At first, their feeling with each other was awkward because of their friendship. But when they finally reveal their true feelings, their dares and games kept them from having a relationship. This ultimately led to “we don’t meet for ten years” dare of Sophie, when she attempts to stop Julien from getting married because of their dare when they were still kids.

Climax: After 10 years, they’re both living opposite lives. Julien is now miserable because of his boring, idyllic life as a family man, and he still not talking to his father after he had disowned him. Sophie is living the life after his football player husband went famous. Exactly after 10 years, they met… and they fall in love again. Only this time, nothing can ever separate them…. Not even a knockout punch from an jealously angry football star husband!

Falling Action: Waking up from the punch, with Sophie’s delightful face the first thing he laid his eyes upon, they decided to live forever, in one final dare.

Denoument: Bodies pressed against each other, holding close, not letting go, they share their final words, , as mounds of cement pour into them, all of their memories, even those they haven’t done, like growing old together, all of it sealed with one final kiss.
