glimpse into my beautiful imaginary world where arthropods are really big and we domesticated them
edit: people are starting to say some "my worst nightmare" or "eeeww no that one is yucky and scary" comments on this like they do on any bug post and id like to say. it's fine if you don't like bugs it's fine if you're scared of bugs but don't put that on MY post clearly talking about how much i like them and how cute i think they are. you can make your own damn post about how much you hate wasps or spiders or whatever. i'm blocking people who make these kinds of comments.
I WANT TO FUCKING LIVE HERE!!!
happy pride guys especially to the homies over on ao3 ya'll the real pride

Got some more bird buddies today :D

one week
*Whimpers*
Around 3 weeks ago, a praying mantis came to stay on our plant for a few days. I named her Mooli because she looked like a watermelon radish.
Mooli in all her upside-down glory
The morning after, we found out that she had laid eggs! I wasn't sure that they were fertilized, but there was a good chance, so we kept the case on our plant. Mooli left a day after laying the eggs. (Farewell, my friend, I hope you lived a good life filled with lots of bugs)
Mama mantis with her eggs
Well, after three long weeks, guess what? They did hatch! I now have 4 little baby mantises running amok our plants and absolutely devouring all the plant-eating bugs.
Sweet tiny little puppy
It's been storming quite a lot here now that it's almost the monsoons. I hope they dont get blown away by the winds. I really hope they stay with us, but if they don't, i wish them all the best for their adventures ahead! I've already begun feeling a bit motherly towards them, though, so I can't help but worry.
Baby trying to reach the other side (I believe in you!)
I've given them names. They're named after Sonic characters, because I'm a little freak nerd.
The biggest of them all is a fast little bugger. Like blink and he's traveled from your finger to your shoulder fast. Of course he had to be Sonic. (He's the one in the third pic)
The one in the fourth pic is Knuckles. He's a warrior through and through!
Tails is also in the same picture, but he's really just a green blur. He's not quite strong enough to run yet, but he's made amazing progress in just two hours!
Last but not least, Amy ready to fight like the fierce gal she is. Adorable, all of them.
Amy ready to throw hands
I hope you get to enjoy the wonders of the world and live a relatively predator-free life. I love you, my mantis children <3
A post made with @onenicebugperday in mind, for introducing me to the wonderful world of insects. Thank you for loving bugs and making me and probably many more compassionate toward little critters in the process <3
What beautiful tiny friends! Please tell them I love them. And thank you for the kind words, it means a lot ❤️🎉🦗

Thinking about the time i was in a school band competition and the guy rapping slim shady forgot his line so i had to step in and do it and for the next two years everyone told me to "please stand up" whenever i was sitting
The entire thing was a massive disaster btw. Girl playing the guitar was crying after the competition because her guitar fell off the strap mid performance
