Arteles Artist Residency Program

I am honored to announce that I will be staying at the Arteles compound in the Finnish countryside for their winter residency program: Silence. Awareness. Existence.  

I will be living on the Arteles land for the month of January where I hope to unveil the movement of the chakra system through the daily practices of yoga, meditation, dance, painting, and whatever else I can get my hands on.  

The mystery has yet to reveal itself!

MYST Art Salon

Who are we? MYST is the brain child of Alex Crow and Mary Mailhot--two female performance artists that wish to provide a space for East Bay artist communities to gather, share their spirits, and express their wildest creative dreams.  We love art and we want to support it. 

We are hosting our first Salon of the year at the beautiful and recently opened, Addison Yoga Loft on May 22nd.  Doors open at 8:30pm, show starts at 9:00pm. We will be accepting payment for entry on a sliding scale of $5-$10. 

We will be presenting brilliant Bay Area talent from the lands of Dance, Theatre, Music, Visual Art, and all of the spaces between.  Join us for a casual evening of inspiration, creative expression, and community.  All are welcome!

Y.A.D.A.D. (yoga and dancing at dusk)

It is exactly like it sounds--Yoga and Dancing at Dusk (YADAD) is a guided experience that deepens the practitioner's relationship with their body, mind and soul through the exploration of yogic practices, expressive movement, and meditation, all accompanied by live music. This will be a three part series set at dusk inside our beautiful home at Addison Yoga Loft (AYL).  

Class structure will look like this:

1 hour: Yoga practice 20 min: Expressive Movement Play 10 min: Closing Meditation

You will be guided by two of the AYL Faculty: the angelic MMHoney (Mary Mailhot) who is an innovative performance artist/dancer, yoga teacher, & musician, and Alex Crow who is a professional dance artist, yoga teacher & creator.  These two women collaborate together often in many different aspects of life, sometimes known as MYST, and are very excited to host this special event. Come express your inner light; sing,  dance, play and explore!

I will be performing alongside the lovely, Mary Mailhot, in the debut premier of Ashley Trottier's, MESSY HUMAN as a part of the WERK! Performance Festival 2013 at Dance Mission Theater.

ALL DAY YOGA RETREAT @ The Rabbit Hole

Come spend the day at The Rabbit Hole and truly nurture yourself. Our head yogi, Alex Crow, will guide you through multiple Asana and meditation sessions involving movement exploration, aromatherapy, and mindfulness practices.  There will be opportunities for reflective writing, roof-time hang time, and tarot readings.  We will also be joined by the wonderful Andrew Keeler, Reiki Master and Yogi, who will guide you through an exploration of the energetic body through the lens of Reiki healing.   The day will also include vegan meals and a reviving hike up bernal hill!  all levels welcome.

One day I noticed that I wasn’t breathing—I was being breathed. Then I also noticed, to my amazement, that I wasn’t thinking—that I was actually being thought and that thinking isn’t personal. Do you wake up in the morning and say to yourself, ‘I think I won’t think today’? It’s too late: You’re already thinking! Thoughts just appear.
