eunbyul was excited for today. it hadn’t been too long since the fanmeeting with their pearls, and yet, she had already started to miss standing on a stage and seeing them. despite today not being a solo show for the sirens, but instead a festival in busan with their labelmates rosebud and another group, haven, she was more than just happy to be able to meet the fans so soon again.
rehearsals were already over and she was now sitting in her stage outfit in front of the mirror in their dressing room, getting her hair done which was the only thing missing to complete her look. there was still quite some time until they would have to be out to perform, but she preferred getting ready early and to not rush. this was the more relaxing part of her job, honestly; just sitting down and letting someone else pretty you up for the audience.
the reflection in the mirror told her when someone suddenly entered the room - someone she couldn’t make out just yet from the corner of her eye. she turned her head just a little to see if she could recognize the person through the mirror, but then it went too fast for her to really make out the girl’s face. the door was shut loudly as the girl ran out again, and the unexpected noise made her jump in her seat. “who was that…?” she asked into the room and not at anyone in particular, yet a question came back, wondering if it hadn’t been rosebud’s areum. eunbyul wasn’t sure though, it could’ve been anyone.
it wasn’t that much later that she was done with her hair, and she went to take a seat at one of the dressing room sofas. there was time, she could get comfortable. she would probably check some of her SNS before warming up her voice - at least that was the plan. a few kakaotalk messages however caught her attention faster than that, and as she opened them, she couldn’t help but chuckle lightly to herself. so the door shutter from just earlier had actually been areum? it was a little amusing to her, that she hadn’t said anything and just quietly ran out again - and yet, she somehow understood.
eunbyul pondered for a moment, but didn’t want to make her wait for too long. the messages showed that she had read them, and areum was probably waiting for a response, even if she had said she could just ignore them. it wasn’t really eunbyul’s style to ignore messages though.
( to: rosebud kim areum ) areum-ah~ ^^ did you not want to say hi when you came in? it got me so surprised, i almost fell out of my chair! but you really don’t need to apologize.
( to: rosebud kim areum ) and of course i remember you, i’m sorry for being so quiet. you should visit our dressing room again and say hi next time you come ^^ i’ll see you!
she smiled softly after sending that last text, and she remembered that they really hadn’t spoken much in the past. areum had been with the company for quite a while, however, eunbyul was more on the quiet side and it had probably been hard for the younger girl to approach her first as well. maybe the amusing event from just now would change anything about that? eunbyul wasn’t sure, but she’d definitely love to chat sometime.
she trembled slightly, wondering if she had somehow messed up by messaging eunbyul. it was her first reaction. to apologize, explain the situation. the last thing areum wanted was to be left on the wrong foot with eunbyul. especially since areum respected her, looked up to her. what made things more awkward ( in areum’s head ) is that they barely talked.
so she sat back in her seat that she was told to sit in so one of the stylists can get to her when they’re done with another member. she threw her head back, a loud sigh leaving her lips. she wondered how she could be such an embarrassment, she covered her face. she heard one of the stylists tell her to sit properly so they could start on her makeup for rosebud’s performance. areum gave slow nod before picking her head up and sitting up straight, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath.
it felt like forever until she heard a ding come from her phone ( when in reality, it was probably a few minutes ). she stared at the messages, processing what was being said in them. a small sigh of relief left her lips, unlocking her phone to type out a reply.
( to: eunbyul-ssi ) ah, it’s not that ! i did want to say hi but...
( to: eunbyul-ssi ) i didn’t want to disturb you... but i guess i did anyway?
( to: eunbyul-ssi ) ah... i’m really sorry about that :-(
she paused for a moment, thinking of how to reply to eunbyul’s invitation. it was a friendly invitation, one that she would love to accept with many smile-y emoticons. but she had to remember this wasn’t someone that she really knew outside of idol business. she bit her lip, coming to a slight resolve, starting to type a response again.
( to: eunbyul-ssi ) you don’t have to apologize ! and that sounds very nice, thank you.
( to: eunbyul-ssi ) i’ll be sure to say hi if i ever go to your dressing room again !
