JIN IS AT IT AGAIN. no, it’s not nearly setting the house on fire trying to make toast. and it’s not butt-dialing some senior idol and making a fool of himself, either. it’s not even him sitting on his ass with a finger in a jar of peanut butter. no, instead, jin is up and about— and honestly, very much in hwan’s face.

jin still cringes everytime he thinks about his first meeting with his group, hwan specifically— seriously? comparing his group to tuna in an attempt to compliment them? it was more of a nervous slip on his part, but damn was it an embarrassing one. it was made even worse when joohwan proved not to be as angelic as on first glance, meaning more of a chance for a group member not to like him. and if there’s one thing jin seriously cares about, it’s not being liked.

“hyung, let’s go get lunch!” jin insists in a way that is admittedly a little childish. it’s even worse considering that pretty much the rest of the day was spent in this fashion. but what can he say? he’s determined to get close to joohwan, considering his nerves getting the best of him pretty much every time he has to interact with the older boy. “seriously, i’ll pay if we do; i don’t think we’ve officially hung out since we first met.”

 JIN CAN BE A LITTLE PUSHY— not really in the sense that he’ll go force someone to go do something, but rather that when he discovers that his friend is going to be same time, same place at the festival, he’s dead-set on spending time with him. not only does being in two different companies mean a roadblock, but unity getting the brunt of the consequences of dimensions’ failures means little freetime for jin. the busan festival is a blessing; even though it’s work-related, he’s got a lot of leeway for his own activities whenever he manages to sneak away from his group. this means multitasking and meeting up with théo. he jumps on top of the opportunity to hang out with théo at the festival, mostly by way of ice cream— no one can resist ice cream, right?

“i’m glad we managed to meet up,” jin says, happily licking away at a scoop on top of a cone. but his smile turns into a frown quickly. “our companies are so stupid!” he declares. “you’d think that two idols hanging out would be a good selling point, but nooooo, it’s all ‘do this schedule!! do that schedule!!’ . . . i hate it.”

and yes u are correct! tho that was for a new character, bb holiday, and this is a revamp of unity maknae daewon, aka daewon 2.0. except his name is jin, and his personality’s different, and the only thing he has in common with é is the position. darwin tenniscourt will be missed :(

cha jin, ‘99, age 18, unity maknae and honestly not that problematic, aside from the occasional roast

is very forward and tactless, oblivious to most things and will probably come off as rude because everything he does is sharp and to-the-point

born in busan, his mom ran a comic book store. she was a single mom and really Tried Her Best to make a living for herself and her son

anyway ;; jin’s reeeeeaaaaallyyyy intelligent; think like rm-level intelligent. thing is it wasn’t ~cool~ at the time to be a teacher’s pet so jin would always hide it and even not aim for the best marks so that he wouldn’t be laughed at;; what i’m getting at is that he tried really hard to fit in TT

didn’t really work; kids could tell he was faking p much everything about himself and so he was p lonely most of his childhood and his best friend was his mom

as a result he’s a little rough around the edges nowadays

anyway, he was scouted based entirely on visuals one day and being an idol and having everyone love him? dream come true

honestly he’s p lucky that he had some unpolished talent; it wasn’t much, but it was enough to catapult him into a vocal and dance spot in unity, he worked harder to get lead vocal, and then like ? his visuals took him the rest of the way

he honestly has no idea what he’s doing. he works really hard but he doesn’t know what for; originally he wanted to be an idol so ppl would love him, but the company had him do a concept that’s the opposite end of the personality spectrum and honestly while he’s got a reasonably good public opinion nowadays, he’s sorta realizing it’s not for him and that kinda kills his self-esteem TT

so essentially, he reeeeaallyyy doesn’t know what he’s doing. he puts in The Work but doesn’t have The Goal and he’s really trying to find a niche either in singing or dancing so that maybe one day he can find a passion and permanent career. he desperately wants to find a passion in either because he feels confident with the attention, but he’s still kinda getting comfortable with himself and doesn’t feel like the love is for him but rather for the singer/dancer/maknae of unity

was named cha jin bc his mom was korean and his dad was also korean but grew up in america;; when his mom got pregnant w him young, her first words were “jinjja?”— “really?”— and poor dad thought that mom was naming him “jin cha”

has a T E R R I B L E sense of direction like honestly he will get lost if u take ur eye off him for ~2 seconds

seems to have a bit of a mean streak but honestly that’s just him rlly hating to beat around the bush
