Nara releases debut solo single “Paradise″
Silhouette’s Nara has made her solo debut with the release of a new single titled “Paradise”! Nara is the second member of Silhouette to officially make her solo debut after maknae Dita debuted solo in 2018. “Paradise” is an uptempo pop track that allows Nara to show off both her dancing abilities and her vocals. The music video is colorful and puts a spotlight on the song’s choreography. Nara will be promoting the single on music shows for three weeks.
fmdjiah:
Jiah adores the feeling she gets whenever she sees Nara truly. Maybe because they’ve known each other for such a long time and Jiah felt as if Nara’s almost explosive personality contrasted quite nicely with her usually calm behavior. It was funny to think that she could get along with someone so different from herself and even then, she wouldn’t want to lessen the excitement that the other exhaled.
Laughing, Jiah directed a smug grin at the other’s direction, “but of course, always praise beautiful people is what my grandma would say,” she tells Nara, crinkling her nose, “that’s very nice of you to say but I’m underdressed if compared to you,” she said while leaning back to take in her friend’s whole outfit. To be honest, anyone could be better dressed than Jiah at the moment, it didn’t necessarily mean she didn’t look good. She had enough confidence now to admit that she looked pretty despite the clothes she wears. “Are you doing this alone?” Jiah asks after taking a look at the bag of things Nara’s taking for her little adventure, “you really are something else, I wouldn’t gather this type of energy to do this on my own, never,” she said truthfully with a light chuckle. Her head kept telling her to deny the invitation and that despite being a very nice suggestion, she had so many things to work on at home. She had to study the script and practice the choreography, she also had to give some proper attention to her dogs who only came to her these days to seek food. Her brain always made up very nice arguments, “of course, I will love to!” she says excitedly, her shoulders slightly lighter now that she allowed herself a little break time, “let me just pay for my share of things and we can head out and enjoy the sun.”
to be honest, nara didn’t typically do things alone. it wasn’t that she didn’t like to spend time with her own thoughts, but she got too bored by herself. everything was always more fun when there was someone else to share the experience with; waiting for the subway, grocery shopping, cleaning her apartment, all things that would be boring alone could be improved majorly if there was someone to do those things with. luckily for her, she was a pretty friendly person who had no problem calling up her friends to see if they wanted to do even the most mundane of tasks with her. recently though, with how busy her april had already been, having a day to something relaxing like having a small picnic, was just what she needed.
“believe it or not, this is exactly what i need to unwind. anything that includes snacks and drinks is what i need to be doing right now.” both jiah and nara had been idols for a long time now. they had been through many things in the industry even if they weren’t in the same group. the sense of camaraderie that came with being her friend meant that nara would do almost anything for jiah. if she considered you a close friend, there was almost nothing that she wouldn’t do for you. “don’t be silly,” nara started as she grabbed everything and made her way up to the check out before jiah could protest. “i have officially invited you, so as you are my guest, i’ll be getting this.” she flashed her a quick smile before pulling out her bank card and inserting it into the card reader. “i was just going to go to the park a few blocks from here. it’s big and has a lot of trees to shade us. doest that sound okay?”

fmdjiah:
Jiah needed to go grocery shopping but there weren’t enough hours in her day to properly do that. Going to the supermarket was something that she actually enjoyed doing but between shootings for her drama and promotions with BEE, there was little time left for her to do all she needed to do, and since she needed to sleep more than eat (or so she was told), she could easily put off her shopping party and live of convenience stores supplies. That’s why she was dressed in her usual ‘going-out’ dark outfit that was simple enough to not make her stand out in the crowd. She learnt over the years that trying to ‘disguise’ herself would only get her more attention, which was exactly what she didn’t want.
To be honest, Jiah never expected to be recognized or have people approaching her so freely because usually, the ones who had their curiosity sparked were fans, and most idols would want to keep their distance to stay away from gossip and stupid rumors, so it goes without saying that she was shocked when she heard her name being called, her head snapped up to the direction of the familiar voice and Jiah let out a chuckle. She brough a finger to her lips as if telling Nara they should be more silent, and even stole a quick glance to the cashier, but she wouldn’t fool anyone with that smile plastered on her face. She circled her arm around Nara’s waist and they bumped lightly before she let the other go, “Nara-yah, it has been a while since the last time I saw you, you’re looking good as always,” she said while brushing Nara’s dark hair behind her ear, “I’m doing fine, just a little tired and hungry too,” she said while lifting bottle of yogurt she was planning to buy, “what brings you to this fine convenience store? Are you going on a picnic?”
nara was always told she was too loud. in school, she got in trouble many times for the sheer volume of her regular talking voice and that didn’t help that she also loved being the center of attention. making people laugh and happy was something she genuinely enjoyed and the best way to do that was by being her over the top self most of the time. between her voice, personality, and loud fashion sense, ‘blending in’ wasn’t something that nara could do easily. it was no surprise that jiah would be taken aback by how little she cared about other people hearing her call out because she’s been dealing with that her whole life. she offered her friend a bright smile and wrapped her in a hug as well.
“always such a charmer,” nara joked before flipping her hair over her shoulder and giving her friend an exaggerated wink. “you don’t look too bad yourself.” jiahhad always been someone that nara loved the style of. she wasn’t over the top and loud like she was, but she still found a way to stand out in her own way. even now, in dark clothes she looked like she could catch the attention of many people whether she thought so or not. opening the bag at her side a little bit, she showed the contents that she had already picked up. “you’re right! i’m going on a picnic.” nara looked out the window and hoisted her bag back up onto her shoulder. “the weather’s too nice today. why sit at home and eat snacks when i could be in the beautiful sunshine eating snacks?” pulling yet another bag of some sort of chip off the aisle and throwing it into her bag, she then placed her hand on jiah’s arm with a wide eyed grin. “do you wanna come with me? have some beers, eat until we are too stuffed to even think about moving?”

the weather was starting to warm up just the slightest bit in seoul now a days. nara was able to pack up her big puffy coats and stop worrying about layering item after item of clothing to keep the chill out. she wasn’t exactly a calm person. sure, every now and then, nara liked to have peace and quiet just like any one else but she much preferred being around others than solitude. with the weather getting warmer, it was the perfect time to spend a few minutes alone to enjoy some fresh air. the cherry blossoms were blooming too which painted a nice back drop where ever she went.
heading to the convenience store near her apartment, she brought a sort of large bag to hold her snacks, beers, and a blanket in to take herself on a picnic in the park. nara might not be known for spending time alone but when she did, she went all out. in the store, she picked up bags and bags of snacks that she knew her managers would be furious about along with a box of oreos. as she made her way to the refrigerated section to pick up some cass, she saw a familiar face walk in the store. “yoon jiah!” nara said at a volume that was probably too loud. she saw the cashier’s head look up quickly and then saw how wide their eyes became after seeing both of the girls. nara smiled at her friend and made her way over, snack bags overflowing in her arms. “it’s been so long since i’ve seen you! what are you doing today?”

it was no secret that the silhouette members were all close. at this point, they had all been together for over ten years if you counted training which meant they had grown along side of each other for all that time. when nara began training at gold star, she had thought that she was the shoe in for leader in whatever group she’d debut in; people seemed to really like her even though she was a bit all over the place especially as a young teenager. but then youngjoo came and wrecked all of that. at first, it was a lot for nara to handle. she got angry, dismissive, she had to learn how to get used to not being in charge. eventually, the two girls started to get along and now they were as close as two could be.
nara went over to joo’s place often to be around her friend. sure, she liked her alone time as much as anyone, but there was nothing like having a girls night with one of your closest friends. pouring herself another glass of wine and holding a box of crackers under her arm, nara made her way back over to the couch where youngjoo was sitting. “can you believe it’ll be 10 years that we’ll have debuted together soon?” she said around a mouthful of cracker. she sat down in a slump and picked her feet up to rest against the coffee table in front of her. “it’s crazy. who would of thought that we’d still be together after all this time?” nara said with a grin.

duri wasn’t much of a shopper, to say the least. it wasn’t something he would really find himself doing often, besides for on the days where he couldn’t find himself doing something else, to say the least. however, he was very much into fashion and it was something that had really sprung up a lot recently. he likes to think that he had been better at fashion when he had become an idol, but it was something that had really bloomed more over the past few years. it probably seemed he had gotten a bit into it, especially when he tries outfits that are a bit more clearly experimental.
did he even need any of these sweaters? should he go with something completely different? no, he came here specifically to build up his sweater collection, he shouldn’t go off track and do something else. he held them up, one at a time, trying to determine which was the better. he giggles softly, “sorry! it’s something that always slips,” he admits, giggling a bit more. he blushes a bit, before shyly responding back, “a lot… i really like pink and lavender,” he says, another giggle not helping but giggle a bit. his head tilted a bit as he looked into the mirror. “do you think its a color that suits me?”
like most things in her life, nara didn’t hesitate away from doing something bold just because it was too loud. on any given day, you could see her trying something new, whether that be fashion or food or anything new. she liked to live her life without any restrictions which is why starting off in the idol industry had been a struggle for her. rules were not her forte. when anyone would look at her closet, the amount of bright colors that didn’t seem to match in any way stood out. she didn’t like to shy away from something just because it made too much of a statement which is something that she tried to push onto others. duri was sweet and lovely and pinks and purple suited him well. all the more reason to attempt to shake him out of his comfort zone a tad.
“duri,” nara started in what she hoped was a gentle yet convincing voice, “those colors are lovely, there’s no denying that, but why not try on this one and see what you think?” she didn’t want to push him into something he didn’t like but sometimes that’s what a person needs to find something new. “it may seem too loud of a color now, but on you, you can make anything works. pair it with a simple pair of jeans and it would look wonderful on you!” nara looked at her friend in the mirror and studied the orange against his skin: a gorgeous combination. “it’s so bright and cheery and perfect for this weather.” she tilted her head. “the most important question is would you like it enough to actually wear it and not have it just chill in your closet?”

fmdseora:
“Mcdonald’s isn’t healthy for a promoting idol you know.” Seora responded,it felt good pretending to be some type of authority figure. She paused before asking, “Can I suggest a trip quick to Subway instead?” Seora and Nara were not close in the slightest but they were company mates so some degree of civility was expected. She didn’t wait for a reply from the older girl as she ordered an uber eats. The distress in her voice softened her, so she sprung for a big mac and 3 bags of extra large fries as they always made her happy and she hope it would make Nara happy.
The drive over to Nara’s apartment was quiet and Seora hated it. She turned her phone off and hoped the meal beside her would remain hot during the short ride. Aria’s fanmeet preparations had exhausted her, but she was sure Nara had felt worse than her if she had called Seora of all people. Besides Seora had been extra lonely these days with all her members doing solo activities.
Finally she had arrived, “Knock knock” Seora called after ringing the doorbell. The meal had remained surprisingly hot she noted as the bottom of the paper bag begun to burn her skin. The shuffling behind the door somewhat alarmed her but she kept it to herself. “Hey!” she exclaimed as the door finally opened.
“i don’t care if eating this mcdonald’s was the last thing i was ever able to do as an idol,” nara said, sitting up in bed with a grimace on her face. “if me eating a goddamn cheeseburger was the final straw with goldstar then goodbye idol life and hello rest and relaxation.” it wasn’t even that nara hated being an idol. in fact, she loved it. but after so many years of being forced to act a certain way to be accepted as an idol, she’d rather not get crammed into that box of what an idol should be and look like again. “subway?” she exclaimed with a laugh. there was no way this hangover would be quelled by a club on honey oat. “just forget about it, sorry to have bothered you.”
she knew she probably sounded too short on the phone but she didn’t want to force her junior to go out of her way just to bring nara some comfort food. she sighed in frustration, threw her onto the bed next to her pillow and burrowed into her covers as far as she could. maybe she could just sleep off the hunger instead of doing something about it.
just as she was about to drift off, there was knock at the door. grumpily, nara opened her eyes and padded over to the front door of her apartment, not bothering with checking the peep hole to see who it was. people outside of her friends and company didn’t have her address so she never really thought about the problems that could happen if it wasn’t someone she actually knew. “seora?” nara said as she shook her head in slight disbelief. she wasn’t actually expecting the girl to make the trip all the way over to her place after their phone conversation. wait,” she said as she sniffed the air and looked at the bags seora was holding, “is that what i think it is? what happened to subway?”

fmdtaeyong:
ash had a problem with answering phone calls. it wasn’t on purpose, but he never took his phone off of silent unless he knew his manager was going to contact him and he couldn’t risk the lecture he’d get if he didn’t respond. he was out when nara called instead of tied up in his studio, so he was able to catch it and answer it before it could go to voicemail. he gave himself a mental pat on the back for that.
“uh, going to mcdonald’s together at, uh,” he checked the time on his phone screen, “two in the afternoon might not be our best option if we want to leave with our images in tact, but i can bring some over to your place if you want it,” ash offered. he didn’t mind pigging out on some gross fast food, but a male and female idol eating together in such a populated place in broad daylight wasn’t something ash was looking to test his luck with.
“what’s with the mcdonald’s craving, though?” not that he was judging, but from the wealth of food available in seoul, mcdonald’s was really only good when someone was too drunk or high to care what they were eating or when they were trying to smother a hangover with all of the grease (and, in ash’s opinion, hangover soup was a better cure in that case).
nara was surprised ash picked up his phone at all. there had been numerous times that he had been too busy or whatever and would ignore her calls, even sending her straight to voicemail a few times. she knew how hard he worked and was never offended when he didn’t answer but always pleasantly shocked when he did. wrapping herself even further into her blanket burrito, she pressed the speakerphone option on the phone before laying it down next to her head on the pillow.
“ughhh,” she managed before closing her eyes again, “why do you have to be the sensible one?” honestly, the thought of being seen together had never really crossed her mind. she had never been one ot think ahead like that so she was glad at least one of them was. at the suggestion of bringing food over, nara let out a sigh of relief because h wasn’t taking away her greasy hangover cure. “you, my friend, are a life saver. truly, i’m blessed to have you in my life. whatever you want, i’ll cover you. get the whole menu if you want to, i don’t care.” nara smiled and snuggled her head against her pillow.
the pounding in her head was lifting a bit as she kept her eyes closed to the harsh daylight streaming in through her semi-sheer curtains. “last night might have been a bit too much for me,” she said through a yawn. “i went out and can’t exactly remember what time i came home. all i know now is that i need something to stop this angry growling in my stomach and the best option for that is always fast food.” ash could keep his gross hangover soup that he swore by so long as nara go to eat a quarter pounder. “i meant it when i said get whatever you want, by the way. do you want to send you a message with my order? it might too long to remember based on how hungry and desperate i am.”
durifmd:
@fmdnara!
clothes shopping wasn’t something that duri would do really often, to be quite honest. he was pretty sure he had more than enough that was needed for himself. plus, there were a few new things he had for different seasons that he didn’t get to wear yet because he purchased them during after season type of sales. but, nonetheless, he found himself in a store, fingertips going through racks to find himself some more sweaters that he felt he needed - even if he really didn’t. he was the type to wear sweaters rather often, even in warmer weather because the inside was a bit cold; but that was only if he wasn’t wearing long pants, rather than shorts.
he pulled a few out of the same in different colors, eyes scanning upon them for a few moments. he goes in front of a mirror, holding the colors up against himself, seeing how they looked. however, his eyes would catch someone behind him, turning upon his heels. “oh! hello, sunbaenim!” he says, bowing towards her. “quick question! which color do you is the best of this sweater? i’m thinking baby pink,” he says, a giggle seemingly leaving his lips.
if there was one thing nara has loved to do after becoming an idol, it was shop. when she was younger, shopping for fun was never really something her family could afford to do. shopping was strictly for school clothes with a few extra just for fun things thrown in. now that she had the freedom (and the money) to go and buy new clothes whenever she wanted, she would find herself going as often as she could. she didn’t need any excuse to treat herself to a new top or trendy jacket or something. with a few bags already looped onto her arm, nara pushed the door open to a relatively small store that was selling the type of skirt she had been looking everywhere for all day.
browsing through the aisles she saw a familiar person standing at the mirror with, quite frankly, way too many sweaters in his hand. nara smiled at duri as he said hello before turning that friendly smile into a laugh. “duri, we’ve known each other for years. you don’t have to bow when you see me. i think we’re closer than that.” she laughed again and pulled at his arm so he was facing her properly. “now let’s see...” nara trailed off as she looked back and forth between the sweaters and her friend’s face. “yeah the pink is nice, but how many pick sweaters do you already have?” looking at the other colors, she pulled the bright orange one off the rack and spun him around to the mirror once more. “now this is a color!”

famed fan sign questions : currently accepting!
12. what do you want for your next birthday?
“a mansion! buy me a house!” she joked with the fans as she was asked the question. nara hada good relationship with her fans and loved to play with them instead of being so perfect and idol like all the time like she used to have to be. “are you going to get me something for my birthday? i don’t need anything, don’t waste your precious money on me.” in all honesty, nara looked out for her fans as much as they looked out for her. she was constantly telling them not to worry about buying their albums and merchandise if they don’t have the extra money to because being a good fan just meant supporting silhouette, not who had the most money to spend. “as long as i have the love from you shadows, i’ll be the happiest girl in the world. i might treat myself to a day of eating whatever i want for my birthday though,” nara answered and looked back at her manager with her tongue sticking out.
13. what is do you consider to be your most charming feature/trait?
“do i have to say just one?” nara replied cockily as she tried to think of what she though her best feature actually was. it would be easy to say her body or her face or her talent because that’s what she’s been used to hearing over the past 10 years as an idol. when she really stopped to think about it, she didn’t know what she would actually truly think was her most charming one. “probably my spirit,” nara said proudly. “i know i can be a little bit intimidating and i’m a little bit much sometimes, but i think people are drawn to the way i look at life. everything doesn’t have to be so serious all of the time and i think it’s nice to be reminded of that sometimes.”
17. what do you think of fans of the same gender as you?
nara looked out at the sea of female faces in the audience and laughed loudly. “what do i think of them? of course i love them!” through out her career, she had drawn the attention of a fair amount of male fans but also female ones as well. over the years as she was allowed to express herself more and more authentically, the number of female fans she had increased to where she might think they outnumbered the male fans. “i appreciate all of my fans equally and love them all. i’m glad the other girls here can call themselves my fan and i hope i can inspire them reach for their dreams.”
