realistically, saehyun didnât know why he had even bothered to attend the after-party. it wasnât his sceneâhe avoided alcohol as much as he could, wasnât particularly fond of crowds, and had always been happier on his own than socializing with people that he didnât care to know. and yet somehow, he had found himself in the club, sitting at the bar but facing away from it with his arms crossed over his chest and a judgmental expression on his face. he was watching groups of intoxicated idols, some with their arms slung around each other as if they were old friends and some dancing in such a way that he doubted their idol abilities, but they all seemed to be having fun at the very least. that was more than he could say for himself, unfortunately.
when he made eye contact with someone that he knew amidst the crowd, he immediately beckoned them over. âyou wanna keep me company? iâm a little lonely,â he admitted, offering a small smile to make the invitation slightly less daunting. he had been alone for the entire night thus far and while he usually wouldnât mind, it was a little off-putting. he knew he wasnât the kind of guy that people flocked to when they wanted to have fun, but still. it was a party, goddammit, and he would talk to at least one person before he left.
Parties had always been Trevorâs thing. Back when he was a kid in California, he had gone to plenty of parties, a party every weekend actually, that were much like the one happening right in front of his eyes. A bunch of moving bodies in a tight, compact room, music blasting, people drinking, people dancing, people doing things that they shouldnât be doing. It was almost a little nostalgic for him in some ways. A part of him missed it. He missed being able to go to a party and do whatever he wanted without caring about the consequences. Now that he was an idol, he couldnât move in the wrong direction without his actions being detailed in an article for the world to see. It was frustrating to say the least, but it was the life that he had chosen for himself all those years ago when he had accepted BCâs offer to become a trainee.
Someone beckoning him to come over caused his feet to move in their direction, his eyes immediately recognizing them. âYou look like a judgmental, old ahjussi.â Trevor scrunched his nose up at the expression on Saehyunâs face as he made his way over to him, settling himself down at the bar on the empty stool that was next to the younger maleâs. âAre you always this judgmental, or is the nightlife that brings it out in you?â He asked conversationally as he polished off the rest of his drink. âMaybe you wouldnât be so lonely if you got out there and started mingling with people. What are you doing here sitting at the bar anyway? Not drinking. Youâre taking up a seat that an actual drinker could be occupying right now.â
