š„ - Extra characters/Other guards?
Oh boy, thereās quite a few ānon-canonā characters here, letās start from the top.
Vivian Gale: Probably the most important completely original character in the story. While she was originally written in as a plot device to give Vincent a decent motive to start his killings, she eventually took on a few of the aspects of the child from FNaF4, in that she ended up the victim of a bite (in this case, the base ofĀ ā87) and is most prominent at the location depicted in that game. Unlike her brother, she never knew her parents (something Vincent considers a blessing), her mother dying during her childbirth and her father effectively disappearing as soon as she was born. Vincent dotes on her more like a daughter than a little sister, even though sheās probably more capable of taking care of herself than he is. She dies during a fatal accident at her own birthday party, her friends inadvertently leading her into Freddyās jaws. Instead of her soul taking up residence inside something inside the restaurant, she attached herself to Vincent after her death, but, since Vincent lacks Markās ability to see ghosts, sheās only capable of directly communicating with him in his dreams (which she didnāt do for years, disappointed in her brother for brutally murdering her friends). When Vincent dies inside of Springtrap, she reunites with the other children and helps to keep Springtrap restrained.Ā
Sean Sepich: Markās childhood friend that passed away at a very young age. Mark doesnāt like to talk about the night of Seanās death, leaving the circumstances surrounding his passing a tightly kept secret between the two of them. His soul latched onto Mark almost immediately, the connection so strong it awakened the latent ability to see spirits within him. Theyāve literally been inseparable since. Sean has aged himself progressively as Mark continued to grow up, choosing to live vicariously through him. While heās incapable of using full powers of possession, he can transfer himself into most kinds of machinery and can detach himself a short distance from Mark as his host. During Markās time working at Fazbearās Fright, he typically wanders the halls, bolting back to the office should Springtrap get too close. The spirits of the children are aware of his presence and know that he means no harm, but are too afraid to talk to him, choosing instead to passive-aggressively warn Mark about his impending danger. Sadly, Seanās own ability to indirect with the departed is not as developed as Markās is, despite being a ghost himself.Ā
Jonathon Gale: Possibly the biggest scumbag in all of Squallās End. This sack of shit is the illegitimate father of both Vincent and Vivian. Jonathon is a good-looking man in his thirties who works in an underground medicine ring and frequently targets high school girls to sleep with him - the most important of which was Katherine Shepard. After learning that he had a kid, he took measures to keep Katherine alive to take care of it, hoping that having a son would mean heād have someone to continue his work. From a very young age, Jonathon brought Vincent in toĀ āhelpā with his patients - namely the ones he had deemedĀ āimpossible to saveā (read: were of no use to him alive) and could be dissected for parts. Because of this, Vincent had enough blood on his hands to be convicted of murder by the time he was six years old, and held a very deep grudge against his father for the way he treated both him and his mother. No one knows where he is now, whether he still be hiding far beneath the town or halfway across the country. If anyone were to find him, they would likely find a myriad of corpses and the thin traumatized husk that was his brother.Ā
James Gale-Fitzgerald: The father of Jeremy Fitzgerald and biological twin brother to Jonathon Gale (take a moment to think about that). James was always the weaker of the two, looking to Jonathon for guidance and elevating him to an almost god-like level. Their relationship is⦠unconventional to say the least. When James broke the news that he was to have a child with a woman, Jonathon was the one who pressured him into immediately putting Jeremy up for adoption. James never knew his son or his nephew, manipulated in every sense of the word by his brother for years. Like Jonathon, he has a history in medicine and has been victim to many of his brotherās āexperiments.āĀ
Katherine Shepard: The deceased mother of Vincent and Vivian. She was barely seventeen when she became pregnant with Vincent, falling victim to Jonathonās charms just as so many other girls had before her. Once she realized what had happened, she went to Jonathon for support and was met with violence and disgust. Despite her treatment, she stayed under his care until the baby was safely born. Jonathon would thenĀ āprovideā for her over the next decade - she was left to take care of Vincent by herself, living in back alleys and fighting for food, but never to a point where either of their lives were in any serious danger. She bled to death after the birth of her second child, Vivian, Jonathon purposely performing the procedure incorrectly.Ā
Felix P.: The only person willing to put up with Mikeās bullshit and one of his fellow members in the Azure Bats. He grew up in the orphanage, a few years younger than Jeremy, and not even he knows what his real name is. No oneās really sure why heās friends with Mike, but itās no secret that Mike would have likely drunk himself to death by now if Felix werenāt around to look out for him. Heās loud, annoying, and saved up for the best Walkman available. Itās strange to see him without his trademark abnormally large headphones situated around his neck.
Lynx: Feared ruffian and 15-year leader of Squallās Endās local gang, the Azure Bats. Itās unknown exactly how long heās held control of the group (or how old he is, for that matter), but both Vincent and Mike were under his lead while they were members. Vincent held a rivalry against him when he was younger, while Mike shows him more respect than he ever would his own parents, Lynx seeing him as a younger brother of sorts. Despite being the leader of a nefarious gang, heās probably one of the most well-grounded guys youād come across in this town - as long as you donāt get on his bad side.
Kodaka Hisashi: The owner of Freddy Fazbearās Pizza and subsequently the man that essentially has Scott under his thumb. From a family of Japanese immigrants who trekked their way across the country to the east coast, his given name meansĀ āeternalā orĀ ālong-lastingā - a fitting name considering the longevity of his business against all odds. Even he isnāt quite sure why he continues to pursue the franchise after the numerous tragedies that have taken place. Perhaps thereās a higher power at work keeping Freddy and his friends above water? God knows heās done everything in his power to make things rightā¦
Arin Lawler: A professor at the local community college. Fritz has the strongest connection to him, although Jeremy was enrolled in one of his classes before he was hospitalized. Heās largely based off of my art teacher throughout high school, albeit a bit more⦠out there. Think of him as sort of a mad scientist - most of his students are intimidated by him and try to keep their distance, the things that go on in his office would likely get him fired if any higher ups found out (who else are you supposed to call at three in the morning about an unidentified species?), but heās incredibly loyal and caring to anyone he ends up taking a shine to. Heās also the one who helped Fritz out of his slump and encouraged him to pick up engineering again.
Lunick Lazarus and Nain Nonennea: So far these two have only been mentioned on the RP blog, but their role is to essentially alter the timeline as they see fit. The easiest way to explain it is that they have this chess board with pieces representing all of the key players that allows them to control the events surrounding the franchise. Theyāre the authors here - you could potentially blame a majority of the horrible things that happen in the timeline they ultimately kept on the sick amusement Lunick got out of seeing his pawns suffer. Itās probably a good thing these two are only relevant behind the scenes and donāt need to be mentioned in the main story since they make everything far less interesting in my opinion.
Technically there are a few others that have been alluded to, but they either die early on or havenāt particularly become relevant enough in a characterās overall arc for me to bother explaining who they are.
š¤ - How did the Fazbear business start/who started it
The original FredbearāsĀ FamilyĀ Diner was family owned, like many other small businesses in the area. An elderly married couple had set everything in motion - the husband, an engineer in robotics; the wife, a cooking enthusiast. The creation of the first Fredbear and Bonnie hybrid suits was groundbreaking, occasional malfunctions aside. Following the incident with the hit and run in front of their establishment, they both made the decision to sell the name, not wishing to deal with any public backlash and having long been ready to retire.Ā Hisashi, the eldest son of the Kodaka conglomerate, snatched up the company right away, eager to see what he would be able to make of a no-name pizzeria in a podunk hick town. Millions were poured into the renovations, an expansion to the building, new animatronics derived from the blueprints of the originals, and the addition of an arcade to keep up with the turn of the decade. The rest is, essentially, history.
š - Are you adding Sister Location to your AU?
Thatās still up in the air at the moment. My first instinct is to say no, it doesnāt fit into my timeline, just like FNaF4 didnāt. That being said, Iād like to implement it somehow, even if itās heavily altered (much like how I took elements of FNaF4ā²s plot and modified them to fit the story I had already written). If I were to make it canon in the AU, it would likely involve my shoehorned emergency retcon devices - otherwise known as Lunick and Nain. If they experimented with scenarios for the sole reason of seeing how it would ultimately affect Mike, I donāt see why they wouldnāt toy with events to a point where it ended up leading to a different outcome entirely. How that relates to Sister Location⦠well, frankly Iām lucky that Vincent already has a little sister that could easily take the place of Aftonās daughter. Itād be interesting to toy with his deterioration if Vivian had never died.Ā
