On my last post Steve asked for help. Steve says thanks to @stancy2016 and @wheeler-dyer for the advice! A catylist has confronted Nancy and Jonathan's issues and they are broken up. Jonathan can been thrown off a cliff. The cliff of hell.

At the beginning of season four, I fully believe that Nancy thought Stobin were together and was jealous (secretly of course), until Robin confirmed that they were just best friends. Bc Nancy definitely doesn’t like when Steve is with other girls, this is canon. But, then Nancy and Robin become besties

The issue with Stancy for me is that Steve wasn't ever really in love with Nancy. He was in love with some idea of Nancy he made up, a girl who wanted to settle down in the suburbs and have 6 babies with him. He never cared that she was interested in journalism or imagined that she could have goals in life besides marrying him because, for Steve, Nancy was really a symbol of what he thought he was missing in his life (and, frankly, what he felt entitled to as a dude). That's why the s4 retred was so irritating because the show spent a whole season rehashing what we already knew in s2, that Steve didn't really see Nancy. Now, that shifted a bit at the end of s5. But not enough, imo, to justify spending so much time on it in s4.

If Steve didn't love or respect Nancy or her agency he wouldn't have let her leave with Jonathan in the first place. He wouldn't be going to Barb's parents with her for dinner or attended her funeral with her. He'll still be friends with Tommy H and Carol and wouldn't be hanging out with a bunch of kids. He would have just walked away from the whole fight, away from associating with the whole lot of them if he didn't love Nancy. She was the one he messed up with, he acknowledges that, but he said it himself, as long as she's happy he's fine with whatever relationship they have. He loves her so much he lets her go a second time and he loves their friendship.

Love is about being a better person than you were yesterday and wanting to be a better person. The Steve of season 5 isn't the Steve of season 1 because unlike some certain characters, Steve actually grew as a person, expanded his world view, and made some new and old friends along the way.

He definitely isn't this weird misinterpreted reductive jerk with a trad wife agenda this person with a clear personal bone to pick is making of his character.

Where on earth did you even get this idea from? Steve offered to go with Nancy on her investigation in season 4. He was concerned she was going by herself but he never stopped her or tell her she should drop it (unlike certain characters).

He helped her make and refine plans in season 5 for their Crawls and took orders from her because she clearly is the leader and the taskmaster of their unit. Hell, he works for her at the radio station.

He respects her ability and drive so much and it's baffling that you all took his confession to mean he wants to make her give up her career and force her to stay barefoot in the kitchen popping out babies for him.

The fandom is really fucking weird about Stancy as a ship. If you don't like it that's fine but you do too much to make it more problematic than it really is.

Whoever made that absolute wrong statement needs to watch the show. Steve DID love Nancy, it's obvious he cared for her, let's look into it

Season 1: Steve IS, yes, is a caring boyfriend that loves Nancy, after Nancy loses Barb he tries to support her, assuring her Barb is probably fine. Later in the season during the alleyway scene he says he WAS worried for her. After Steve and Jonathan's fight he cleans up the slut writing on the billboard. At the Byers house he jumps to action by thinking Jonathan hurt Nancy after seeing her cut hand I believe, it's been a long time since I watched season 1 but I think that's what it was. Steve then risks his life to save Nancy and Jonathan from the Demogorgan. At the end of season 1 we see him on the couch with Nancy celebrating Christmas.

Season 2: Steve spends part of season 2 supporting Nancy after Barb died, Steve comforts Nancy often. At the party yes Nancy does say some hurtful things when drunk, but Steve still loves her no matter what. Nothing ever says Steve left the party, he just told Jonathan to take her home. Later at this season's alleyway scene Steve walks off after Nancy can't say I love you, however this dosen't mean Steve doesn't love Nancy, he was heartbroken. At the Byers house Steve tells her to go with Jonathan because he cares for her and he just wants her to be happy. Why would Steve go to the Wheeler house to give flowers to Nancy if he didn't love her?

Season 3: not much between them this season, Steve tells Robin he doesn't have feelings for Nancy anymore, but it's seen later on in season 4 and season 5 that Steve wasn't telling the truth. Steve saves Nancy from getting hit by a car Billy was running straight towards her at and risks his and Robin's life in the process. I'm pretty sure that's all that happens this season between them but I'm not sure.

Season 4: Steve and Nancy wave at each other at the scene in the road but I don't think that is a point in this entire statement. Dustin and Robin can see through Steve that he does love her, Steve denies it but it's clear he's not telling the truth again. Steve doesn't want to let Nancy go on her own and is still worried when Robin goes with her. This is one of my points, why would he be worried about Nancy going on her own if he didn't love her? Steve and Nancy give each other loving looks throughout this season, Steve saves Nancy from choking on Vecna's vines, offers to go down in lover's lake, holds Nancy close during the upside down earthquake, is there for her during the Vecna mind control and freaks out when Nancy's eyes are sucked out because he LOVES her. Steve openly admits he wants 6 kids. He imagines this with Nancy. I've seen things that say Nancy is uncomfortable, but it never implies that, Nancy didn't look uncomfortable at all. Nancy chooses Jonathan in the end, deep down they still love each other. Nancy even defends Steve when Jonathan jokes on who's leadering.

Season 5: Steve still loves Nancy, it's clear as day. Steve wants Nancy back and it's shown he does. Steve gets Nancy and Jonathan to safety from the goo room. Nancy jokes with Steve if he knows how to use a gun, they give this look at each other that makes me think how dumb people can be thinking Stancy is toxic. Steve talks with Jonathan and admits he'd want Nancy as a friend than nothing at all.

The fact they said that Steve dosen't care about Nancy's future is a complete lie. Where in the hell did they get that from? He never forced Nancy into anything, I could write a whole response as long as a book on this.

God, my fingers hurt.

Oh man, I'd be here till Christmas! Let me give you a not short, but simple rundown for my vision!

Nancy and Jonathan aren't working out, they know, everyone else knows it, Nancy knows Steve is the right choice. Personality I think they'd get together after the events of Stranger Things 5, the ones who see it the most are Dustin and Robin, Holly matchmakes Nancy into talking to Steve, at Steve's new house they're talking, they share some heartfelt words and they kiss, then that's where they start dating.

Bonus!

We get a glimpse of all the characters in 2026, we see Steve and Nancy as an old married couple, their granchildren call them outside to come look at the garden, the end.
