Happy Pride Month! I think trans women should start killing people.
happy pride
I've seen this clip many times, but never really appreciated the power of "what was her problem?" Just casually assuming that lesbians come in a wide variety of shapes and being inclusive. As a transbian who is probably still closer to Homer shaped than to my ideal, that's huge!
Listen. Motherhood, like any parental role for a character, isn’t an inherently bad thing for a character. There’s lots that can be done. There’s lots of dynamics that can be done between a woman and her child. But the problem arises when writers approach motherhood as a one size fits all situation where every woman is nurturing and holds their child the right way and turns out this is what they never knew they needed.
Some women don’t want kids, some women can take care of kids temporarily but don’t want them for themselves. Some women just don’t trust themselves or feel comfortable around them, there’s layers and different perspectives that people don’t consider because of inbuilt misogyny and assumptions.
Happy Pride Month! *Grips you with the fury of a thousand blades* If you going to make a point on having a "male-centric" narrative but having strong female characters to send as a "message"; I need to know if you know the difference between having complex and interesting female characters with rich lives outside the men in the narrative or if they are women who fights good.
Analyzing the politics of a work that's meant to be apolitical is actually a really interesting exercise because it asks you to critically examine what the creator considers to be "political" in the first place. Which ideas are just How Things Are, and which ones are Political, and how is that influenced by the creator's beliefs?
Usually this just ends up with you looking like a moron btw
Angrily lashing out at the suggestion that it's possible to do basic media analysis was foundational to the ragebait ecosystem of the 2010s, from which we got basically the entire culture of modern far right politics, btw.
I genuinely believe myself and others are being so sincere and literal when we say TOUCH GRASS
I went outside and got an education, that's where I learned that you can obtain knowledge and insight through analytical methods, then noticed that some people who sit on the internet yelling at strangers get really mad about that constantly.
So actually if you really wanted to use your analysis skills you'd realize that what people are annoyed about is the implication that there's never a story or creative work they can create that can escape people like you attempting to assign political meaning to it when they just don't want that. That in fact people's presumptions about life are not, in fact, political (at best they are cultural, which is not an inherently facet of politics). And that by you people arrogantly pushing this idea you are intruding on the fact that a lot of people use fiction as escapism from politics and insisting that "urm no actually your favourite cartoon actually has politics cause no human being is 100% unbiased" is in fact, supremely fucking annoying
"Stop having fun wrong, it ruins my fun when you have fun wrong, it's not enough for me to just scroll past the analysis I don't like, if anyone anywhere is saying that the cartoon exists in a political context that's undermining my enjoyment of it!"
That's you. That's what you sound like.
Basic English class bringing out the vintage gamergate blogs lmao
Reminder, if you ever pay someone for a commission on Paypal (NSFW OR NOT) you SHUT THE FUCK UP in any text box it gives you.
(No this does not mean try to be a snarky comedian and say it was "bomb materials" or "fuck u" or whatever. Don't play with people's livelihoods, just shut the fuck up and don't type anything at all, it's not that hard.)
People, my wonderful transfem friend is taking students for her class. Do your thing and help her find students. The relative value of a dollar and a rupee means that just ten international students can help her make rent.
Hey folks, Swarnim's an old friend and a talented engineer. As Aruvi said, a dollar goes a longer way in India, and India's current regime is exceedingly unkind to trans women trying to find gainful employment, or even just live their lives. Please help a trans woman from the third world support herself!
being anti-divorce is so fucking bonkers to me like yeah i think you're morally obligated to stay with some shithead who you hate forever. this is a normal and healthy thing to believe. let's have kids together and force them to grow up being raised by two people who hate each other. yeah this might fuck them up mentally during the most formative years of their life but it's the morally righteous thing to do. if there's one thing god loves it's traumatized children. i'm getting into heaven for sure
Asexuals were always part of pride and it really fucking shows when people think it's a recent term.
Although not going by the term "asexual" yet, asexuality was spoken about alongside homosexuality as far back as the 1890s. Asexual history is just as vital to queer history as any other term and I'm so tired of watching us being treated like a new thing
This image is so so fucking important to me
Reblog this, cowards
Stole this from somewhere but i think it’s appropriate
ALL. OF. THIS.
like you can just assume anyone constantly blogging about how there are sooooo many pro-pedophilia transfems on this site is a terf
i'll keep saying it if it was true you'd be contacting authorities instead of Posting about it
Happy Pride month! May I ask a Disney related question? Do you think the songs written by Howard Ashman (Beauty and the beast, Little mermaid) were actually meant to express the 1980s LGBT experience? Or is that simply something people interpret into his work due to Ashman passing away from AIDS?
Being unhappy with your current status quo was the running theme of a lot of classic and 90's era Disney films, and is the experience of a lot of LGBT people pre-2000's and post-2016.
However, it's also the experience of MOST marginalized identities, which is why white LGBT people have a nasty habit of saying a story has "q***r subtext" when it's actually about racism.
Happy rainbow month, everyone!
"This child cannot get this treatment because their parent said no" why is this normal to you!!! "This child, who is begging for treatment, cannot be given lifesaving medical care because their parent said no" is a wild statement!!!
Children should not need parental permission for medical care!! This doesn't just apply to life or death care*! A pregnant teen should be able to get an abortion without parental permission! Let teens go on birth control without parental permission! A kid should be able to see a doctor about a mental condition that is harming them and get it treated, even if their parent "doesn't believe it's real".
KIDS SHOULD BE ABLE TO HAVE MEDICAL AUTONOMY!!!!!
*it should be noted that the reasons I list after this can also be considered life or death, as a lack of access to them can be deadly.
"onlyfans is using choice feminism to trick women into doing what men want" I'm gonna beat you to death with a hammer
surely the uptick in sex work isn't reflective of current material conditions. I think it's just that women have rodent brains
you just dangle a little money in front of their face and they can't think rationally. they need it for their shopping habits. that's why more enlightened women like me need to protect these women from themselves by keeping their industry as criminalized and restricted as possible
