i think the same. mack’s part of the hockey community but at the same time his family has always been very hockey atypical since rick and robyn didn’t grow up in it themselves, even if all 3 of their boys are DEEP in the trenches

it’s not remotely the same but as the youngest manager in my company i feel like i can kinda understand mack. it’s almost lowkey embarrassing to have such authority thrust upon me. like when one of my direct reports asked me for permission to leave early for their child’s high school grad and i was there like ‘aren’t you the adult here? your child and i are basically the same age’ (spoiler we’re not but i have peter pan syndrome)

i sincerely hope not. i think even just 5 years ago that would be much more likely but thankfully younger nhl players do seem to be chilling out with rushing into marriages and kids too young. there’s just absolutely no way to build a healthy family life or marriage when you’re on a road trip for like 4 months of the year and the other 3 are home games but you’re still on your super strict game day schedule and don’t see your fam anyway.

it’s still happening but now seems more likely 25+ where as before it was the norm to be married with multiple children by 25 (vomit)
